I have used other Griffin products and thought that this would have the same quality as others, but it does not.

The idea of having a solar charged and using gyro to turn the unit on and off is a GREAT idea, once you get in the car my iPhone will pick up and connects automatically.

My main issue is it does not do the most simple thing at all, the MIC on the unit does not work. I can hear it very well but the other side has very hard time hearing me, I have to scream for them to hear me, so I can not use this unit. because of that I give 1 star. if they change the MIC and able to make unit work as you would expect a hands free to work then I would retry.

This sounds fantastic on paper and looks like a high quality product but it just doesn't do it's job well.

The features on this thing is fantastic, props to whoever came up with the idea to couple solar charging with an auto on/off functionality. It turns on when it's(or the car is) moving, and off when it hasn't been moving for 2 minutes. Then it sits and charges with the nifty solar panel on the back. It'll work with Siri or whatever your device uses for voice commands too. The volume is JUST loud enough at it's loudest to overcome road noise.

However, there is one glaring flaw with the product that renders it useless. The person on the other end of the call simply cannot hear you. It's ALMOST alright when the driver is on back roads. But if they're on the highway then you won't hear anything on the other end. I can't tell exactly what's causing this. I don't know if the microphone is simply not picking up enough of the voice or if it is picking up the voice and mixing it with the vibrations from the car or road noise. It just sounds like the driver is underwater, I could not understand anything they were saying. We tried moving the device around to various locations on the windshield to no effect. We also tried the driver's side window, but this was worse, the mic seems highly directional.

That being said, the driver will hear the person they're calling just fine and will experience a perfectly pleasant call.

This was a great idea and the price point is right for this device, sadly the execution is flawed in the one place that matters, the call quality. The device is useless as it stands.

P.S.: If you've already bought the device, take a look at the manual, its quite humorous in parts.

It is very easy to set up and works fine however you cannot turn it off and it is always trying to connect to my cell even from the car in the garage. It also will start beeping for no reason which is very annoying. It really needs an Off switch.

I've owned external bluetooth speakers for my vehicle before and this one keeps me from having to time my charges because it charges via a solar panel on the back of it. The case it mounts in and out of is good but the 4 rubber feet on the back that keep it from wobbling against the window had to be cut down a bit. Without doing that in my truck, the small feet were compressed so much that they would overcome the suction power of the 2 cups and the speaker would fall off the window. I cut about an 1/8th inch off each foot and it stays solidly where I want it. It has a mini USB charge port so that is convenient becuase my BlackBerry charger works great when the sun doesn't shine for a week or so up here in upstate NY. As for holding a charge, I've used it a good bit and it's lasting just fine. I would certainly recommend one to others. It's got good sound quality and my friends hardly notice a difference in how I come through on their end.

Received this as a gift. It didn't work properly. When trying to make a call it dialed random people. Couldn't hear even at the loudest setting. Griffin replaced the unit and the second unit doesn't work either. Now I'm told it is probably my phone -- I'm to blame. Yikes. I do have to say that I love the size of the unit and the fact that it is solar charged, but a lot of work needs to be done on this unit if they are going to make it a hit. I'm done.

Found this on News tech bites, This is the worst unit I have ever used. Works as well as having your phone on speaker.
Bluetooth is the only thing that seems to work right.
