The g4Port universal serial adapter is the perfect companion for your G4 or G4 dual processor computer. Designed from the ground up for the G4, it supports every serial device that worked on your previous Mac, including third-party serial and LocalTalk printers, MIDI devices, and much more. The g4Port fits seamlessly into the modem slot on the G4 to provide "board level" compatibility, even supporting LocalTalk file sharing and printing to your existing LocalTalk printers in Mac OS 9. In addition, the device takes only moments to install.
The g4Port, which offers an eight-pin serial connector, supports G4 Macs with AGP video cards. Users who bought G4s when they were first released should check the Apple web site to determine if the g4Port adapter fits their computers (Griffin also sells separate adapters for earlier G3 and G4 computers and 233 MHz Bondi Blue iMacs). The g4Port has been successfully tested on such serial devices as LaserWriters; StyleWriters 1200, 1500, 2200, 2400, and 2500; HP DeskWriters, ImageWriters, and Plotters; all modems, including ISDN modems; lab equipment; bar code and wand scanners such as Paperport and Datapens; serial-type drawing tablets; and digital cameras such as Quicktakes and Quickcams. As with all Griffin products, the g4Port carries a one-year warranty.
