Good protection, but...,

The plastic cover got scratched very easily and made it difficult to view videos with the shell on. Also, the bottom of the shell is so thick that i can't use some headphones or my car FM transmitter.

Love this thing. There's a million cases just like it all over the place, so I honestly don't see how one plastic case is that much different than another. It fits perfectly and provides no problem plugging in the charger or any sort of earbuds. My only (small) quibble comes with the fact that there is just the smallest bit of space between the player & the case, which I am not used to; My previous Griffin case fit my 2G nano like a glove and there was zero play to it. However, the only way this might ever be a problem is if you are addicted to the "Shake to Shuffle" feature on the new 4G nano; otherwise, it is simply a design quirk.

The concept of this product seems reasonable. The problem comes when trying to use it with an iPod dock. Because of the rigidity of the shell it is difficult (to nearly impossible) to get the iPod to fit on the base. I would recommend getting one of the new form fitting silicone covers. I picked up one of those and have loved it. It also has the added feature of not sliding, when laid down (like in a car).

Not all I was hoping it would be,

The shell itself is not bad, but.....
I really wanted a shell I could leave on at all times including while using my car FM transmitter. Not going to happen with this case. The case comes down way to far around the plug to work with probably any docking station. Also, I bought the one that comes with a belt clip and armband. The belt clip was impossible for me to put on, just snap on, yeah right. Bottom line, if you just want a case and don't dock it to anything it would be fine. Otherwise try a different one....I am still looking.

I bought this case to replace the 30 cent plastic case that originally came with my iPod nano 4g as part of an Amazon promo. The Griffin case is a little pricier than many similar cases available on Amazon, but it is by far the best. It fits my nano like a glove, and the case actually covers the screen, unlike many other cases sold on Amazon. The plastic is also very thick and sturdy, and the pieces fit well together, which means that the case won't snap apart in my bag like my old one used to do. Surprisingly enough, despite being so tight-fitting, the case is easy to remove. All you have to do is stick a small coin in the bottom right corner of the case and give a gentle twist, and the case comes right off. One other thing I like about this case is that the cut outs on the face and top of the iPod allow plenty of room for operating the scroll wheel and the hold button.
Overall, this case is a bargain. It was only $5, and with free shipping. I highly recommend this. My boyfriend already has a case for his nano, but when he saw my new one, he liked it so much that now he wants one, too!

Best product available to protect your iPod,

Many brands exist for protecting your iPod, iTouch, nano, whatever. NONE are as durable or as easily affixed as the products produced by Griffin. I've tried all the rest. When it comes to protecting my electronic investments I now rely upon Griffin before any other brand. I would not think of purchasing a mobile electronic item without buying the related Griffin product. They're that good.

Clear case, clear view,

I had a previous generation iPod and it scratched so easily and horribly that I wanted a good case for my 4th gen iPod. I bought a leather case and it was ok but bulky and the opaque cover was a pain. With the iClear, it's easy to snap on the iPod and it's staying relatively scratch free. I'm having no problems placing it in my pocket. I can easily see the screen when I want to. Removing the iPod from the case is easy; just take a coin, insert it into a notch in the bottom corner of the case and with a twist, unsnap the case. This is a product I can recommend to my friends.

The case is excellent for protecting your iPod, yet, it becomes a hassle whenever I want to use my iTrip in the car. The case makes it impossible to fit the iPod into the iTrip, so I have to continually remove the case when I am in my car.
