I'm glad I ordered two of these for my Charbroil gas grill. The cast iron smoker box is measured 8"x5x1" -- made in China of course. It works ! What I did I soaked wood chips, put them in the box and placed under the grilling rack -- right ontop of the gas burners. The resulted smoked favored chicken tastes unbelivable! Can't wait to try with ribs and beef. Like I said the box is cast iron. Very solid so I'm expected to last longer than my grill, if not forever.

The best kind of smoker box is cast iron because it's really good at taking the heat, smoke, and dirt. This is a prime example. I wish it was deeper to fit more wood chips, but hey, it's alright with me.

For use in a charcoal or gas grill for smoking 'meat' of any kind. Very well built and holds heat quite well. Place chips in box and place smoker box over indirect heat.

I purchased two. One for a gas and one for my REAL (yes charcoal) grill.

This cast iron smoker box blows away the foil packs and the thin stainless steel smoker boxes commonly seen in the big box stores.

Heats evenly, provides good smoke, essentially no maintenance or setup, and heavy duty to last a life time.

This is a sturdy little cast iron box does the job. Soaking chips for an hour ensures lots of smoke flavor.

Great buy if you're a griller. Got some applewood chips for under 10 bucks, getting many uses of sweet smoking pleasure. Heat grill first, allow smoke to build.and enjoy the flavor of wood grilled with the convenience of propane. Good price, sells for more in stores.

So far, I've only used it with apple chips, which took only five minutes to get smoking, rather than the stated 15. Also, it has turned white, which wasn't supposed to happen. I have only used it on charcoal - I don't know if that makes a difference. However, the flavor has been good, it's easy to add more chips (although a bit precarious), and completely eliminates the problem of dousing charcoal with wet chips. I bought another one for a friend today, so I guess I'd recommend it.

Couldn't ask for more. I always smoke sardines and salmon and it always work perfectly the way I like it.

This cast iron smoker box should last a lifetime. They are heavy duty and work great.If you need a smoker to hold the BBQ smoker chips, this will work super for you.

We've tried on direct heat and on indirect heat; we've tried soaking the chips and using dry chips; we've tried high gas heat and low gas heat! No smoke. Bought different brand of chips - tried all the above - no smoke!
