I bought this because the ratings were pretty good. The plunger does not fit the cylinder and will not draw liquid. Very poorly made. Spend a little more and get one that is Stainless Steel

I have used this injector three times with great success! It has been used on a whole pig and two pork shoulders with a brine and basting mix respectivly. It is sharp, and has three holes in the needle which I'm on the fence about. It's recommended that when "injecting" insert deep, and while injecting, pull out slowly. With the three openings the pulling out part get's messy once the top hole is exposed. Aside from that, it's a great meat injector. It breaks down nicely to clean and for my brines/basting fluids it's generally a mix of apple juice/cider/water/brown sugar/white sugar/black pepper/cayanne/cumin/worcester mix. I also use a small spray bottle similar to this to spray the meat after the bark has formed before wrapping it. Overall it's a good injector, I would imagine that it'll hold up nicely to the type of injections I'll put through it (a water like consistancy) and like most specialized kitchen tools, I'd recommend hand washing it, in this case to protect the gasket on the plunger.

You get what you see here, but the main difference is build quality. The smartest part to this injector is the way the injecting plunger is held in by the top red piece which is threaded on - this prevents your marinade from shooting out the top of you use a little too much pressure while injecting into the meat. Use the cheap injectors that comes with the cajun marinade and you'll see what I mean.

This injector relies on a strong seal from a rubber grommet on the inside, but that part has already failed on me within 2 weeks. I am unable to draw fluid into the syringe, and whatever amount I can get in there, it just leaks out.

I've used injectors for years but his one stands out due to the ease of use with the large fingers and push handle. It makes injecting a breeze. Not to mention the price.

The 1st time I used it the needle broke. I was injecting a pork shoulder and the needle detached from the base where it screws onto the reservoir. So now the needle stays in the meat when you pull it out.

Gosh, there are too many things to be attached. You need to put together 5 parts just to use it. I wish it was just 2 parts like other injectors but either than that its PERFECT!
