4.0 out of 5 stars Great Game, Good Music, September 13, 2007
This review is from: Grim Fandango Soundtrack (Audio CD)
Grim FandangoThis is, of course, the soundtrack from one of the greatest games of all time. Although some tracks are less good than others--the composing, I'm sure, was done on a deadline--the good tracks are GREAT. Glottis' sassy trumpet solo, the bass clarinet and saxophone of Domino, and Meche's unforgettable guitar theme are all there. I couldn't stop humming the tunes--and it's great to be able to hear them outside the game. The live performances are a real treat. Don't pay TOO much for it, though.

5.0 out of 5 stars Must have for Grim Fandango fans, July 23, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Grim Fandango Soundtrack (Audio CD)
About this CD:
This is the soundtrack CD to (in many eyes) the best adventure game, Grim Fandango. Because only limited numbers were made the CD is very rare, hence expensive. Obviously due to its price it is most suitable for "real" fans of the game, yet I believe a music collector wouldn't be disappointed at all.

Music:
The music is just great. The songs are fantastic and the quality superb. It is so nice to listen to the music and let it take you back to the awesome atmosphere of the game. People I know that haven't played the game rate the music very high as well. As a compilation disc it transcend genres just enough to be diverse and (remains) fun to listen to, yet remains in style. I never play it for just one track, always from beginning to end without skipping.

Packaging:
It comes in a cardboard sleeve which is somewhat disappointing, it would have been nicer to have in a digipack. It feels just a bit silly paying a lot for something that has the same type of casing as $3 hit single CD. The print is very stylish.
