Big Twin, a.k.a. Twin Gambino of the Infamous Mobb drops his solo debut album. I ahve all 3 of the Infamous Mobb albums, 2 I'd give 5 stars and the other is 4 star worthy, so when I saw Twin was dropping a solo I knew I had to get it. Not as good as I thought it would be, but it still is a decent album, just expected more from what I've heard from him in the past. With 16 songs (2 are on other albums), you get a decent amount of Big Twin. Of the 16, 1 is a classic, 2 are ok, the other 13 are good, but only a few are real good. Guests are on about half of the songs, and are mostly fellow QB dwellers. Production is decent, not as good as what he usually has. Sid Roams did the majority (11 of the 16), the rest is handled by Evidence (2 songs), and Alchemist, Havoc ad Sebb each do 1 song. Not his best work, but still worth checking out for fans of QB style rap.#2 - 9 (nice beat) #3 - 8 #4 - 7.5 #5 - 8 #6 - 7.5 (f/ Alchemist & evidence) #7 - 8 (f/ alchemist) #8 - 8 #9 - 8 (f/ Un Pacino & Prodigy) #10 - 8.5 (f. GOD III of Infamous Mobb) #11 - 8 (f/ Ty Knitty of Infamous Mobb) #12 -8.5 (f/ Big Noyd -- also on Noyd's "Stick Up Kid" album) #13 - 8 (f/ Prodigy) #14 - 9 (f/ Ty Knitty of Infamous Mobb) #16 - 8 (f/ Ty Knitty & Un Pacino) #17 - 8 #18 - 10 (CLASSIC -- great beat -- also on Infamous Mobb's "Special Edition" album) J. As I understand it, this is a compilation of hard-to-find Big Twins songs and exclusives. I dont think they pressed up many copies of this cuz it was kept pretty quiet..Anyway, that being said, this is CRACK on CD!!!! Twin is a beast... you gotta love that classic QB sound... its always fresh and always holds true to this music... The beats are bananas... you got Havoc, Alchemist, Sid Roams, Sebb... you can't go wrong!

Better in featuringtracks,

Better in featuringtracks....I was waiting a long time for an album from Twins to come out. With his ''Grimey sound'' he has his own style!! Personally I like him better when he raps in featuringtracks with other artists. A whole album is a little too much. But that's my opinion. Track number 18, B.I.G.T.W.I.N.S is the best of the cd, a real dope song with a dope production by Alchemist. The cd has a really cool frontcover and it is nice to see that this guy puts 18 tracks on the album, eventhough not every track is dope. Now a days rappers usually puts 10 -13 tracks on it. Probs to Twins with 18!! I saw him perform together with Mobb Deep in Amsterdam a few years ago. He was bombing tracks out of his mic!!! For a Mobb Deep,Gambino,IM3 fan, it is a dope cd to have in your collection. I will keep supporting them! Greetz from Strada G coming from The Netherlands. |
