Grimm Fairy Tales Hardcover,
By
This review is from: Grimm Fairy Tales Delux Edition (Hardcover)
If you want the ultimate in Grimm Fairy Tales from Zenescope Entertainment, then you want to get the hard cover deluxe edition of the comic book. There are two different sets of dust jacket cover art and both of them have the same contents as the comic book. In all this is the best 40 dollars you will spend on a hard cover graphic novel. The idea behind Grimm Fairy Tales was to rewrite many of the fairy tales that people grew up on, but bring them back to their original gritty hard core spin with a lot of buxom women, strong men, and truly evil bad persons throughout the series. It is fun to read because the characters are extraordinarily well drawn, and the story lines are stories that we grew up with as kids. Probably one of the best ways of looking at the original fairy tales that we grew up with, devoid of the Disney spin. Rapunzel was never like this when you were reading it as a kid.
This puts a great spin on the entire fairy tale line, and Zenescope has really used this as their anchor comic book title to expand into other series and other ideas. The Grimm Fairy Tale series is well worth reading and owning because it is so well drawn and the story lines are so familiar with what we know. Of course we get the girls, the good person sometimes wins, and it just makes for good clean comic book reading fun for Mature Readers. This is not what you read to your kids, this is what you read for yourself. Overall highly rated and enjoyable, this is a great addition to any comic book collection, the Hard Cover version was wonderfully done, and will last a long time and through multiple readings. Just remember that there are two dust jackets, so get the version that you want to get.

Epic Graphic Novel,

I have to say I bought this Hardcover about a year and a half ago not knowing ANYTHING about the comic. I just saw the art and liked it so I decided to give it a chance. This turned out to be a great decision. I CAN NOT recommend this series enough. Just do yourself a favor and buy at least the first trade paper back if you don't wanna spend too much cash on this hardcover.
It pretty much takes classic Grimm fairy tales and teaches a moral lesson. There is an overarching plot to the whole series which gets more and more detailed as you go along. Basically there are 2 immortal HOT women who ago around using fairy tales to help or hurt people. The brunette is the "good girl" and the red head is the "bad girl." They basically battle it out over people's souls. One believes in showing them the right path and then letting them decide for themselves and the evil one in being judge, jury, and executioner. The lessons taught by the fairy tales are pretty cool, some might call it cheesy but I think it's great. Usually people who hate moral stories won't dig this. The art work is awesome. The women are hot and very well endowed. Unfortunately the next hardcover which covers volumes 3 and 4 seems to have NEVER been available. Either that or it sold out FAST. I'm collecting the trade paper backs since the hardcovers seem to be hard to obtain now. Either way I recommend this series. Other than "The Walking Dead" series I don't collect any others. Not recommended for children.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Grimm Fairy Tales Delux Edition (Hardcover)
Well the stories of the book are alright, partially I knew them already, because I own also some of the issues. The sad thing is that tehy didn't reprint all the covers of the issues in big format, what they did is a reprint of all covers on one page in thumbnail format. And the covers are very special . I hope for future compendiums that they won#t repeat this mistake.
