Steve Grimmett Gets Better With Age!,
By Rob Rockitt, HardRockHideout.com "For Those A... (HardRockHideout.com) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Grimmstine (Audio CD)
Grimmstine, is a new metal act featuring Steve Grimmett on vocals(Grim Reaper) and Steve Stine (Dozer and Methuselah) on guitar.
Grimmett's shows more control with his voice than on any other releases. The disc is a blend of classic heavy metal and melodic rock. With a couple of slower numbers, the band has some almost Whitesnake like moments. Steve Stine is a great unfound talent. His guitar work shines on this disc. Overall, Grimmstine is a cool new band with some great tunes under their belt. Worth checking out!

An Excellent Album all around,

I listen to a wide variety of music but Hard Rock has always been my favorite genre of music. Those whole album I'm quite impressed with. I've been a fan of Sons of Poseidon for quite a while and then came the invite on Myspace to add a new friend called Grimmstine. Of course I checked them out - ordered up the album - and here I am. The guitar on this album is great when put side by side with the vocals and bass tracks. Most of the album could be classified with influences by Iron Maiden, Dio and Dokken among others. I have to rate it as my favorite album purchase yet this year. Give it a listen and order it up and you'll surely find its one of your favorites too!

Steve Grimmett (Grim Reaper, Onslaught, Lionsheart, Solo) happened to be in of all places Fargo, North Dakota. He was there with his wife (who was from the area), and the two decided to go see a local band, "Dozer", play. It was there that Mr. Grimmett met and became friends with guitarist Steve Stine. A friendship evolved, and from this friendship, GRIMMSTINE was born. They added the rythym section from the great Sons Of Poseidon, "HAT" on bass guitar, and Dave Johnson on drums, and recorded this CD. This CD was released in October and easily rocketed up to be one of my favorite releases of 2008. My favorites: "911", "Supernatural", "To Catch A Killer", and "It's Over" though keep in mind that the whole release is very good.
