Editorial Reviews

Review

"Mike is the Peter Pan of the cartooning world; he's boyishly charming, good with a rapier, and he doesn't spend a lot to time on the ground. Also, he doesn't seem to want to grow up." --Gary Trudeau, creator of the comic strip Doonesbury

5.0 out of 5 stars Packed with very funny cartoons about a very weird woman and her dog, September 16, 2006
This review is from: Grimmy: Pick of the Litter (Mother Goose And Grimm) (Mass Market Paperback)
These cartoons from the strip Mother Goose & Grimm are flat out funny. Most involve the dog Grimm but some include other characters. One of my favorites was a statement by Mother Goose that she has finally trained Grimm to change the water in his dish. Another character asks, "How could you ever train a dog to do that?" The next caption has a large "Flush" emanating from the background. Another has the copilot of a plane telling the pilot, "Yea I felt a thump too." The nose of the plane has a design of Mary Poppins on it.
In the "Fish Nightmares" cartoon we see a fish with a dream cloud of Mrs. Paul, which is the name of the Seafood Company. One joke after another comes at you so that you engage in speedy page turning until you finish the book.
