5.0 out of 5 stars The most important occult book in years.
Two things have always been lacking within the majority of the people who practice a LHP/Satanic mindset. Direction and proper occult knowledge. This book takes care of both. There is a generally "felt" idea among most LHP practicioners that "one must go through the darkness to find the light" or that there is "light within the darkness". Well what does that really...

1.0 out of 5 stars Rituals you have to rebuild your house for
When I bought this book I was interested in finding out more info on ritual magick and satanic rites. This does give all that but it is so regimental that you feel you are going to have to rebuild your house in order to do any of the rituals. You have to have a special room with special paint and ante-room on the side to change your cloths in. Symbols painted on the...

5.0 out of 5 stars The most important occult book in years., January 17, 2007
This review is from: Grimoire Bestiae (Perfect Paperback)
Two things have always been lacking within the majority of the people who practice a LHP/Satanic mindset. Direction and proper occult knowledge. This book takes care of both. There is a generally "felt" idea among most LHP practicioners that "one must go through the darkness to find the light" or that there is "light within the darkness". Well what does that really mean? To just wallow in pretentious Mall-Goth-icisms and all that stuff that kids think is cool? NO. What O'toole presents is the ultimate practical guide of working through the abyss of youserlf, engaging that darkness and testing yourself against it on the way toward the light of your own gnosis. Highly reccomended to the experienced occult practicioner. If you're not familiar with the occult this book will challenge you but should get you asking important questions.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not your mother's Satanism, December 11, 2008
This review is from: Grimoire Bestiae (Perfect Paperback)
The author has described Bestian Gnosticism as Satanic(adjective), but not Satanism(category). Why? Because the nature of this work takes you away from the superficial realm of occult labels, useful as they may be, and into a Hell that only you can pull yourself out of. That is what this book is about.

When I bought this book I was interested in finding out more info on ritual magick and satanic rites. This does give all that but it is so regimental that you feel you are going to have to rebuild your house in order to do any of the rituals. You have to have a special room with special paint and ante-room on the side to change your cloths in. Symbols painted on the floor with specific regiments to performing rituals. The rituals remind me of hokey high school stuff. The author has developed his own code of symbols and pronounced language that is like something out of James Bond or something. All the prayers are written in this code form, reminds me of the kid in "A Christmas Story" with his decoder ring, deciphering an ovaltine ad in the bathroom. Desecrating things by peeing on them, using chickens blood to write in your journal, and building your own journal out of paper that you have to make on your own. The author is trying to put his stamp on Satanic society with a new sect, but anyone with a intellect would find this stuff to be worthless and a waste of time. You would fair better if you read the Satanic Bible by Lavey at the least it makes you feel smart.

As with M. W. Ford and also the book Black Ship, few, I would wager, have the guts to proceed with what this author proposes. You pretty much have to have accepted "eternal damnation" (or dismissed such a concept entirely).

5.0 out of 5 stars well worth reading, April 6, 2010

This review is from: Grimoire Bestiae (Perfect Paperback)
I have read this book as a complete beginner. It took some time until I started to understand it as it is not one of those step by step guidebooks. While I was trying to find out what was the author's point I came to the conclusion that there is no "right" understanding of this book. Readers are not supposed to like the book nor to agree with it. It just shows the way the author intends it and it's up to you whether you let it inspire you or not. Therefore it's more advisable for advanced who are capable of evaluating according to their own taste.
