Book Description

Harlequin Temptation November 1, 1997

HOHOHOLD ME!

At the age of thirtyone, Brooke Bailey still believed in Santa Claus. She was determined to spread joy throughout her apartment building…whether a certain neighbor wanted it or not.

Indeed, for Dr. Duncan Cox, Christmas was his least favorite time of year—and his busiest. Around the emergency room at Mercy Hospital, he was fondly referred to as the Grinch. Still, to help his best buddy woo Brooke, he secretly filled her stocking with twelve gifts, for the twelve days of Christmas.

Lo and behold, Duncan enjoyed her joy! Could the Grinch and Santa's Little Helper end up together in a passionate love affair? Only in the season of miracles…

More About the Author

Alison Kent was a born reader, but it wasn't until she reached thirty that she knew she wanted to be a writer when she grew up. Five years later, she made her first sale.

In 1995, she accepted an offer issued by the senior editor of Harlequin Temptation live on the "Isn't It Romantic?" episode of CBS 48 Hours. That book, Call Me, was a Romantic Times finalist for Best First Series Book in 1996.

With her first three Temptations on the shelf, she took a break from writing romance novels and spent a few months living one, finding her own hero and practicing every technique she'd learned from a lifetime of reading the best "how-to" manuals around! And the rest, as they say, is history.

Having over thirty titles contracted or in print, she now writes for both the Harlequin Blaze and Kensington Brava lines. She is also a partner in Access Romance, an online author community (http://www.accessromance.com) and DreamForge Media (http://www.dreamforgemedia.com) as a Website designer.

Alison lives in a Houston, Texas, suburb with her hero, any number of their four vagabond kids, and a dog named Smith. Readers can contact her through her web site at http://www.alisonkent.com.

5.0 out of 5 stars A cheer me up book for the holidays or anytime, January 4, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Grinch Makes Good (Harlequin Temptation) (Paperback)
It's a great read. The supporting cast had me rooting for them as well as the "Grinch". And it took me a while to realize that the author told us in her hilarious website daily journal that she would make the hero of her next book an ER doctor due to her daily "experiences" and she...umm..delivered. At times I felt as we advanced through the story that this could be a movie. The element of music felt like it was in the background amidst the holiday fare of Christmas. Rather than humor, the fun of what the "new" gifts for the 12 days of Christmas song would turn out to be was enjoyable and and full of warmth. The gift for for Ladies Dancing and Lords A Leaping part was innovative and still a perfect fit for the story and mood. Something I enjoyed about this book was that the romance permeated the spirit of the story rather than being force fed to us. At times, I felt like shouting the old adage, "Kiss her, you fool !" The pacing was smooth like a good evening. Thanx for another good time, Ms Kent. It was a cheer me up book for the holidays with a lot more substance (and structure) than I expected from the line. You're raising the standards.

4.0 out of 5 stars Cute Christmas Story, January 9, 2010
This review is from: Grinch Makes Good (Harlequin Temptation) (Paperback)
I liked this Christmas story about young professionals living in the same apartment building. I thought the story premise was unique with out being unrealistic, and I liked the characters different, engaging personalities. The story was nice, and simple, not too heavy. The story also totally centered around Christmas, which I really liked, since that is the point of a Christmas romance!
