5.0 out of 5 stars The Grinch
I bought the computer game The Grinch the first day it came out and I think it is great. It comes directly from the new movie, it has great 3-d graphics. The story line is very cool and its for all ages...the controlls are a little tricky but you get used to them in a while. I would recommend this to people 8 and up, its rating is everyone so I belive EVERYONE will...

Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas was a nice little story, so how about just giving your kids the book to read instead of buying this slapped together piece of detritus. 4.0 out of 5 stars The grinch great Christmas gift., November 26, 2000

I bought the grinch computer game after seeing the movie with my children. It was a great holiday game addition for the computer. My 14 year old girl also thought it was pretty entertaining. It seems to be one of those for adults and kids to do together or seperately. My son, liked the things the grinch could do and trying to beat the levels. I recommend this game to anyone who is a grinch lover of old. I have always loved the grinch and so do my kids now. Enjoy this game with the relatives at Christmas too.

Well you get to steal Christmas from those daftly Who's! The game has an average programming job and graphics... So why am I giving it 4 stars? Well it's allot of fun! I for one have been waiting for a game like this for years. I would definitely say that if you are a gamer then you owe it to yourself to get the unique experience from this game... It's destined to be a classic.

The game is a complete waste of money and programming time. The irony of this situation (a multi-million dollar movie and a hastilly constructed game centered around a story about the over-commercialization of Xmas) is really funny and sad at the same time.

1.0 out of 5 stars What a waste...wish I could give 0 stars, February 1, 2001

The graphics are awful, it only works 2 or 3 times until you have to reinstall it, and it installs BETA software on your system. Don't waste your time or money.

4.0 out of 5 stars Tough, But Fair, January 31, 2001
This review is from: The Grinch (CD-ROM)
This game is *VERY* addicting, and it is unique in that there is a lot of puzzle solving instead of violence. For once, a game that makes you use your brain. What kept me from giving it five stars is that it's INCREDIBLY hard, and parents should be aware of that before buying it for a kid. I'm 20 and I needed help from friends, and even a walk-through guide I found on the Internet. I'm about a third of the way through and still having fun. I recommend this game for Grinch fans over 14.

4.0 out of 5 stars A quite challenging yet enjoyable game!, January 25, 2001

The Grinch's plot doesn't quite relate to the 2000 movie, but it is still great. You control the Grinch, in his attept to steal Christmas. You must go through four levels, each one with missions to complete. You can also control Max, the dog, to reach small areas. Collecting blueprint pieces and putting them together will reward you with a useful gadget, such as a Rotten Egg Launcher, or a Grinch Copter, or the Octopus Climing Device. This game is easy at first, then gets harder. Overall, this is a great action game, and I recommend it for any Grinch fans.

2.0 out of 5 stars This game ends up being a lump of coal in your stocking!, January 2, 2001

This review is from: The Grinch (CD-ROM)
I had high hopes for this game and I wish I could tell you that they were fulfilled...but this was not the case at all. Sure, the idea of stealing Christmas from the Who's and just being a menace to society in general does has its attraction, however the story line and game play are the real grinches in this game. Gameplay is difficult and that is simply unforgivable since this game is geared towards kids. The graphics are a mess whenever you get close to nearly any object that is larger than you are. The search for blueprints for your various items is the main goal of the game however, you spend a great deal of time wandering aimlessly throughout the various levels with little or no direction. The game features a notebook which outlines your mission for each area which is helpful especially considering that you literally have to smash hundreds of presents as you progress through the levels. However the creators didn't expand on this notebook notion as much as they could have. On a positive note, the voices are decent and although Jim Carrey didnt get involved, the Grinch does indeed have a great grinchy voice as do the other characters and the amusement level is high. The soundtrack is top notch and adds a great deal to the game. Overall, the game is confusing, frustrating and although it is geared toward kids, the controls may be too difficult for small children. Save your money and visit your local Blockbuster to rent this one.

4.0 out of 5 stars Too Much, July 6, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: The Grinch (CD-ROM)
I am a grinch fan, and this game was really fun, but at times it was really frusterating because it was hard to figure out what to do in the game. I reccomend this game for people really interested in playing, not traditional fans or smaller children (under 10-12). It is fun to be the grinch and has good ideas, but is nearly impossible.
