4.0 out of 5 stars led light bulb, March 17, 2009
This review is from: Grip 30 LED Light Bulb
Good Bulb but very dim compared to the 14 watt cfls I was using originally. I would say one bulb compares to a 15 watt incandescent bulb. I bought them to replace the 4 cfls for the ceiling fan light in my bedroom since im interested in the LED technology and am trying anyway possible to reduce my electrical consumption. They put out enough light For my room but one bulb would not be enough. The 4 LED bulbs Compare to maybe one 40 watt incandescent when they are all on. I would recomend these bulbs but for only a multiple light fixture or night lighting if you don't mind dim lighting, but if you want more light I would stay with the cfls until LED technology becomes more advance and lumen output can increase.

3.0 out of 5 stars Listing lacks most relevant information, February 21, 2009
This review is from: Grip 30 LED Light Bulb
Absolutely every light bulb listing on Amazon should include the following information:

1. Light output, measured in Lumens.
2. Power consumed, measured in Watts.
3. Socket type.
4. MTBF, measured in hundreds thousands of hours

A mean color (measured in nanometers) would be nice too.

3.0 out of 5 stars LED'S PRODUCE AN ODD BLUE LIGHT ONLY GOTHS AND WEREWOLVES LOVE!, June 22, 2009

This review is from: Grip 30 LED Light Bulb
Ok I am not complaining about the light bulbs. I brought these Grip LED lights knowing the light being created was the lowest quality blue light possible for home lighting. I knew before hand the light was scant to barely useful going in. I have a 9 bulb sputnik light in my tiny 8 x 10 dinning room. I figured with 9 bulbs I could get a respectible amount of light in such a small room that is painted off white,... WRONG! With nine of these LED lights burning all at once the combined light produced is barely adequate to eat soup by. I love the erie blue light as it has a quite unnatural hue. Ironically these lights would be great for a Holloween Haunted House. Put a but of dry ice about to produce some heavy ground level fog and these lights will create the creepiest haunted house ever.

These lights produce an unearthly bue grave yard at midnight deadness in even the brightest well appointed room. I would think goths and werewolves would be flocking to buy these bulbs because they are the closest thing to the dark dank unearthly nights we long for. These lights would make even the most beautiful womans features take on a haggish ghoulish pall. I enjoy the lights, I will be buying more when these go out. These lights are NOT ready for general use task lighting. Just too dim and the wrong part of the visable light spectrum. But they are a good start. In time LED's will be the green alternative to nasty CFL's and the toxic murcury they contain. Until LED's can be mass produced in people pleasing colors with an intesnsity that allows useful work CFL's will be our bridge between the Incandescent Light Bulb that has not changed much since Thomas Alva Edison invented it and LED technology that is truly a useful alternative.

I have a house where odd things abound. I want people to visit my home and have memories that shock and bering forth laughter. These lights give the Addams Family house a run for their money. Like I said if you like odd things these lights are for you. If you want the straight laced norman rockwell ever so normal home stick with CFL's because, LED technology is not good enough to be used in normal homes.

If you enjoy having an unusual house that is wilder than wild put these lights in a room you do not use for important stuff. Watch people freak out.
