Was very easy to apply.

I watched a demonstration video on youtube, of how to apply the product, though the written directions would have been fine.

This product works, does exactly what it is supposed to. It is easy to apply-- clear directions for surface prep and application. There is a paint-like odor that disappears after the 8 hour curing period. Once applied, it creates total traction in your tub. The texture is like rough sandpaper. We used it in our guest bath (for a family with two children), and they loved how the surface was completely non slip even with spilled shampoo and conditioner. There is one thing that some people might not like if they are hyper-concerned about aesthetics-- although the product does dry completely clear, it is not a completely invisible coating. The surface of your tub will not be shiny and smooth-looking-- it will have a textured surface-- something like translucent sandpaper. Also, if you like to take baths, you will definitely feel the difference when you are sitting on the bottom of the tub. But if your concern is bathtub safety, this product is fantastic. Highly recommend.

I was skeptical about Tub Grip, since at the time this review was written, the presentation/packaging was a bit amateurish/entrepreneurial, as shown in the product photo: a plastic bottle of yellowish fluid with a homemade inkjet label stuck on, accompanied by a sloppily-photocopied half page of instructions and an off-the-shelf foam roller.

But the product does work very well. It was super easy to apply (5 minutes to scour the tub, 2 minutes to apply the product), and it indeed dried to a clear, textured surface that will prevent slipping. The product appears to be some kind of thinned industrial adhesive that is whipped into a rough surface during application by the action of the foam roller... pretty ingenious.

Pros: Easy to apply (so simple anyone could do it), negligible odor, quantity provided is enough to do one average bathtub or shower. Although the product looks yellow in the bottle, it does dry clear.

Cons: Can be hard to see during application. If the formula could be improved to go on with a distinct color and dry clear (as some glue sticks do), that would be helpful. No ingredients are listed - a bit of a concern since this coating will contact my family's bare skin. It's also unclear if it will be possible to REMOVE Tub Grip from the bathtub if that ever becomes necessary. Finally, the price is kind of high for what this product is; it ought to cost under ten dollars. Granted, one could ask "What price on SAFETY?" but surely this could be sold profitably for less and still achieve a higher margin than the ugly mats and stick-on products it replaces.

UPDATE: Knocked the review down to 4 stars.

I have been doing Bathroom remodeling for over 18 years. I take out a lot of tubs and build shower stalls for senior's. I am vary happy with the results I am able to get for them using this product.

I'm another who tired of mildewey tub mats. Those stick-on strips or silly shapes only help if you're standing where they happen to be, and I wanted better coverage for my kids' tub. I purchased this product several months ago and held off reviewing until I knew how well it would hold up. Well, it's great! My kids have never slipped since we applied this product, and my son takes baths regularly and has had no complaints of its texture. My elderly in-laws were here for the holidays and felt quite secure in the tub. I'm glad to have found this product!

I virtually never write a review but this is a product that really worked well. I have two young children and didn't want them to continue slipping in the tub. I didn't want to put down a mat and it still wouldn't cover then entire tub floor.

This product was trivial to apply and now the kids never slip. It also wasn't visible for those concerned about appearence.

I was searching amazon for a way to make my slippery bathtub safe for my elderly mother and 2 children under age 5. It looked like my options were a bathmat with the suction cups, the non slip adhesive mats, or the not so attractive stick on ducks,etc.... I have a nice looking bathtub and wanted to preserve that look. That's when I stumbled on this Tub Grip product...so I ordered it. Basically, it is a clear coating that is rolled(roller comes with kit)on the bottom of tub and it makes your tub less slippery. It took me about 10 minutes from the time I opened the package until the product was on my tub. I waited 5 hours for the product to dry and then was able to take a shower with complete confidence that my mother, my kids, or myself would not slip in the tub and be injured. I have had Tub Grip on the bottom of my tub for about a month now and can say it has been easy to clean....and I even took a bath the other day and it was comfortable to sit on.. Great product that's easy to use...why haven't I seen this at Home Depot.

Worked well at first. Adults liked it. My 4-year-old hated it because it was too rough at first and he had to sit on a washcloth. Then after it wore a little, it was fine. Not slippery at all and basically invisible.
However, it has been maybe 3 or 4 months since I put it on, and it has worn off halfway so there are huge slippery spots again. We had to go back to the (gross) bath mat.
