I managed to use this item only twice before the spring locked and I had to throw it away. Since you have to tighten it almost to the point of locking just to get moderate resistance, I imagine this is a frequent problem.

When I first received this I thought, "Hmmm. Ok." But after using the gripStik as is suggested (60 or more seconds at a time) my wrists were burning like a sunuva! After using for a few months, I can definitely see a slightly improved definition in my forearms (I wouldn't expect more for how often I use it--but could definitely expect more if I used it more) and my carpal tunnel has almost completely quit bothering me. Recommended for anyone with skinny forearms--like myself--who's looking for something to "pop" the veins out.

This product is excellent for improving wrist and forearm endurance. After a minute of twisting, you really feel a burning sensation.
