5.0 out of 5 stars Comfortable garden scissors
Easy on the hands. Makes gardening a breeze and reduces hand fatigue. Misplaced/lost my first pair. No hesitation to buy replacement pair.

3.0 out of 5 stars Would have been five stars if the plastic were of higher quality
The shears are sharp and have a great ergonomic design. My complaint: during their first use, the loop of the handle cracked with not much pressure. In my opinion, the plastic is of inferior quality. I will try gluing the pieces and hope it does not happen again.

I love these garden scissors! I have a large vegetable garden and have tried various other scissors, none of which were anything to get excited about.

During a recent 4 for 3 sale on Amazon I selected these scissors as my 4th item so actually I got them for free. Had I known how great they work I readily would have paid full price long ago.

The handle design feels very comfortable and allows you to multi-task without having to constantly put them down and pick them up. These also have a safety lock, easily accessible to the thumb to keep them closed when not in use.

Before I got these I resorted to using a sharp knife for harvesting which proved to be dangerous when I sliced my finger trying to free an eggplant from it's stalk. Not anymore, these babies make a nice clean cut, and have some strength to them so that harvesting things with tough or fibrous stalks like eggplant, okra and melons is fast, easy...and painless!

I was so impressed with how well they worked I ended up trimming and pruning everything in the yard from veggies to herbs to flowers, even the roses. The only drawback (if you could even classify it as a drawback) was that it wasn't as easy to slip these into and out of my back pocket as some other scissors I've used, but for the strength, ease of use and hand comfort these scissors offer, that's an easy trade-off to make.

Kudos to OXO, as with their plethora of kitchen gadgets, they've taken a necessary device and made it more comfortable and easy to use and backed it with quality construction.

I liked these garden scissors so much, I bought two more to give as gifts for friends. They are the best for deadheading roses, etc. Good clean cut and very comfortable to use.

Overall a very good tool - cuts well, holds up well. The small nut that holds the scissors together sometimes come loose but it easily screws back in - just a bit of a nuisance, but I would definitely buy this again!

My wife has Arthritis in her hands and has a difficult time cutting flower stems. This scissor works good, she is able to use her whole hand and is able to cut any flower stem. The handles feel slightly cushened and are comfortable. Seems to be well made, and should last quite a while. Would purchase again.

These scissors are comfortable, easy to use and work well for light trimming such as cutting flowers. I would not use them for pruning of woody plants.

These scissors worked well for almost a year of cutting grocery store flower stems. Then the spring popped out and never fit into place properly after that. I'm sorry to say, this is the most disappointing OXO product I've used. I've order a pair of Fiskars flower shears as a replacement.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love them!, April 19, 2011
This review is from: OXO Good Grips 1/2-Inch Gardening Scissors 16050 (Lawn & Patio)
I love these Oxo gardening scissors! I used to cut myself all the time with my old scissors. I sometimes "nip" myself with these, but it's my own fault because I refuse to wear gloves and I trim very quickly. They stay sharp and cut easily. I am now on my third pair. The last two broke (in different places) after MUCH use. If this one eventually breaks, I'll buy another pair. I like them that much!

WOW, I am so pleased to find this tool on Amazon. My first OXO Good Grips broke (the outside thin part of the handle)after a couple of years of hard use and I continued to use them because they are great for clipping flowers in the garden to bring in the house, cutting bags of soil open and general clipping around the garden. It's a favorite tool.
