I am currently a brown belt within Karl Geis Kodokan Judo and this book has been a tremendous help in my training. I am currently using CoC grippers to enhance my gripping strength. This book is a valuable tool in learning different ways to engage grips, breaking them (defense), and different grip positions for various throws.

Great text, full of useful information. Great addition to any judo library. Many of the concepts will help your Brazilian Jiu-jitsu game if you play both sports.

What I like about Neil Adams books on judo is their honesty. I believe that to be the only meaningful way of approach to life, not only to writing about judo. Thanks Neil!
