This broom set is great for light sweeping and quick jobs. The dust pan does not leave that annyoing dirt line that takes forever to get rid of.

I really like this recent purchase, but I have to admit that at 5'7" - it's a little short. My hubby and I are the same height and we both have to bend over to use this properly. We've thought about giving it to my mother in law who is 5'1" since it would probably be the perfect height for her. Just a word of caution. Otherwise it is great! I love the dustpan being so handy!

This is great for my old back. No longer do I have to bend over when I sweep up crumbs into the dustpan.

Pros: The brrom firs nicely into the dust pan for storage and the entire unit folds up. It is small enough to unobtrusively sit in a corner or next to the trash can.

Cons: The broom handle is a little short, but the dustpan handle is perfect.

This would be a great set for those who have difficulty bending (or those who are too lazy to bother). The dust-pan makes very good contact with the floor and therefore the brushed dirt goes INTO the pan rather than under it (as did others I'd tried). If the broom handle were a little longer I'd be able to use it for all of my sweeping, but I think it was mainly meant just for quick pick-ups. (I use a mope on my hardwood floors and then just use this set for the grit that is left under the mop...or if something is spilled.) An added benefit is that one needn't dump the dust-pan each time it's used, as the dirt is contained within when the pan is turned upright. If you're the kind of person who could get excited over a broom and dust-pan, this might be your set.

Good value, as advertised. Ignore those people that complain that this set is short, etc. Those folks who write such comments are not aware that they are buying a "sweep set", all of which are shorter than a normal broom. This sweep set height is just like almost every other sweep set on the market, give or take an inch or two. Buy with confidence, but do not buy if you want, or need a full size broom.

I guess I'm the kind of person who can get excited about a good broom / dustpan! Hey it's the little things in life that make us happy. This is a sturdy upright set, with comfortable handles, and it's the only sweep set I've ever used that doesn't leave that little annoying "line" of dirt. I'm 5'8" and don't have to stoop to use it.

I don't know why everyone is complaining about the height of this set. It's no different than any other broom and dustpan combination set out there. It's the exact same height as my old one that needed to retire. My husband is 6'1" and he doesn't complain about it being too short to use. I'm really pleased with this item. It stores so nicely, too. I'm glad I ignored all the complaints and went ahead with the purchase.

I just bought a 2nd and 3rd broom for the other rooms of the house. This OXO broom has been so effective with dog hair that I've decided to use more of them around the house. This is the first inexpensive broom i've ever had that doesn't cling to dog hair, which makes it impossible to get into the dustpan, as anyone with pets would agree. For dog hair, the fancy neoprene brooms from the county fairs work great too, but they are long, bulky and don't work well with an upright dustpan.

From looking at the picture and that this comes from OXO, you would think this upright sweeper would be convenient to use. Unfortunately, it really isn't. The dustpan part doesn't easily go flat when you need it to. Instead you find yourself taking your hand and forcing the dustpan into position. This of course misses the whole point of the upright sweep set. Although it looks like a home version of many of the sweep sets you see out at the mall and what not, the plastic and design makes it a pain to use. My wife was pretty disappointed with it and ended up just going out and buying another broom.

Having been born on Halloween; I, like most witches, have had lots of experience with brooms. Being a wizened witch at the age of 93, I need a short, light-weight broom that fits my size and picks up litter with a minimum of sweeping. Hard as it is for me to bend over, I need a long-handled dust pan that does not tilt and spill the dirt. It even stores upright, in a small space. The Oxo Good Grips Upright Sweep Set is perfect for me. Perhaps it could even be ridden safely on my next full moon venture.
