I got this saw direct from Grizzly about two years ago. I haven't had a band saw before so I can't compare it to other ones but I do like it a lot. The 2 HP motor has never had any trouble, even when resawing 6" tall hard maple or even taller hickory. The stock blade is worthless, as stock blades tend to be, but my 3/4" wide Timber Wolf blade works nicely.

The dust collection on this saw is the worst of all of my woodworking machines, but I imagine that's the case with most band saws. I don't like that the hand wheel for the blade tension is plastic since it deals with a considerable amount of force (the plastic wheel on the guide elevation part is fine though) and my saw came without the table pin, which was annoying but Grizzly mailed me one quickly. The miter gauge is pretty sloppy in the miter slot (it has no way to fix that) and you really have to crank down the handle to hold its angle setting, so it's functional enough for the most part but not super accurate. The angle of the table is adjusted by turning a bolt in or out of the saw, which seems like a pretty cheesy/flimsy way to do it but it does seem to work.

The cast-iron fence is pretty nice and solid, and the way its guide rail attaches to the table allows for adjustment of the angle of the fence relative to the blade. The magnetic brake is REALLY handy, and I'm glad I paid the extra money for it. I run a production-style woodworking business and waiting for the blade to slow down would be a problem, so I'm glad it stops within about 3 seconds after I step on the foot brake pedal or hit the Stop switch.

The quick-release blade tension lever is really nice too, and ostensibly helps keep the blade and saw alive longer.
