Purchased this saw a few months ago. Very happy with it with the exception of a few minor details. The scale is off at one end. At cuts wider than 16 inches, the scale is right on when using a tape to measure from the blade to the fence. As the fence moves closer to the blade the scale is off by a 16th of an inch or more. When I adjust the indicating line with the fence close to the blade, the fence becomes inacurate as it moves away from the blade. Typically I use a tape measure when setting the distance from the fence to the blade, however at this price I would expect the scale to be more accurate. Additionally, the location of the on/off switch is such that I have shut my saw off several times while cutting by bumping the switch with my leg. The blade is more diificult to change than I'm use to with my old craftsman. Aside from that, I enjoy the using the saw.

I purchased this directly through Grizzy - the saw was on sale, plus they were having some 4th of July sales event for an extra 10% off. I couldn't pass it up. What people say about Grizzy customer service is true - it's really good and the employees try to empathize with any issues you encounter. Which is great, because it's probably unlikely that you'll walk away without a single issue...to be explained later.

I paid for the liftgate service. Probably not necessary. Grizzly discloses that the delivery drivers aren't required to help you. I thought the liftgate service would entice them to, but they driver was extremely helpful (UPS) and helped deposit the three boxes to my house into my garage up a very steep and long driveway with the help of my wife. The pallet the saw came on didn't fit the pallet jack, so the two of them struggled to get it situated. I was at work -- no, my wife doesn't normally do this stuff in my stead!

The box containing the saw itself was in fairly good condition. However the box with the rails and other accessories were really torn up. The box with the rails was taped shut, but not after all the hardware fell out. The packaging overall was pretty poor. I'm not sure if Grizzly finds this to be a more effective means of controlling costs - i.e. reducing shipping materials in the off chance that products get lost/damaged. They lost that bet in my case.

In addition to losing all the hardware, I began assembling the saw per the instructions. First I used WD-40 to degrease the components. As I unwrapped the rails, I noticed some flaking paint. The front rail, it turns out, was in pretty bad shape. The paint was flaking and chipping off. Beneath the flaking paint the metal was rusted. Apparently the factory that produces these hadn't cleaned off the oil used in the manufacturing process well enough so the paint didn't adhere.

I emailed Grizzy with a list of missing components and explained the damaged rail (email because it was after hours). I received a call around 9am the next day from customer service. I explained my plight and the woman I spoke with was empathetic. She said she'd call me later in the day to notify me of what actions would be taken on my behalf. As promised, she called me later in the day to indicate a new shipment would be going out to me.

It took ~1 week to receive the updated items. These were packaged MUCH better, there was no damage to the pieces. I'm now required to send back the damaged items.

I continued assembly after receiving the new rail this past Thursday. All the construction is solid with exception of the extension table. I had to disassemble the table because it was put together in such a way that wouldn't line up with the slots in the front and rear rail. After redrilling holes and assembling, I put the table on the saw. The extension table had a bow in the middle. As near as I could tell, the dip was about 1/8". I decided no to make any complaints about it because I really didn't want to go another week without some part of the saw.

Finally after getting all this done, I went to plug it in and give 'er a test run. Turns out the cord is only 6'. Should have read this...not a huge deal. I used an appliance extension cord (12/3 gauge -- much cheaper than other 220V cords). The saw worked great. The slots were aliged with the blade, the manufacturing of the saw itself was solid, the fence glides across the table. What a dream. Of course the blade guard is cheap, it lasted on my saw for a single test cut. The riving knife works great. The miter gauge itself is solid and heavy and well constructed. The dust collection leaves a little to be desired (i.e. it doesn't get a lot of dust that seems to be directed straight at my face, and there's still plenty of dust in the cabinet itself. But overall I'm really pleased with this saw.

The saw is wonderful, true-accurate and has enough power to rip a treated 4X4. The saw dust collection system needs some work

Best purchase, cuts clean, powerful motor, easy to adjust, exactly what I wanted!

Doesn't look half bad either!

Would recommend!

I can't believe we lived without this saw for years. It used to take us hour to cut a piece of plywood, now it takes minutes to rip it into small sections. Be aware that this thing is HEAVY and it will take some help to get it moved into your shop.

The saw is excellent. It was not overly difficult to assemble. The only reason it was not rated 5 stars is the 6' short power cable which had to be replaced for my setup.

This saw has a major flaw with the saw blade insert. One of the adjustment screws is offset(poor design).
Material gets caught when insert dips down from lack of support. Grizzly refused to do anything for me after six

The saw arrived on time and without any damage. I uncrated and set it up myself, It took me a couple of evenings to do it but all went well. I thought the instructions were very good and all the parts minus a couple of washers were there. The fence was right on so was the bevel. I've only had the saw a few weeks but so far for the money I'd give it a 10. Plus I got free shipping!
Thanks Grizzly,
Mark
