Using it on a drill press will save your fingers when a workpiece spins out. You know what am talking about.
This unit works soooo well and quick to clamp anything securely to the drill press table.

The tool is well made.

This is a straight forward simple vise grip type of clamp. It works very well, just like a standard vise grip. I have no complaints with it's ability to create great holding power. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because of the small round head that actually applies the pressure to the work piece. In my opinion it is a little to small, about the size of a dime. If it was more the size of a quarter it would hold better against any slippage.
Being smallish, it tends to squeeze into soft wood making a indentation on the surface of the piece being clamped down. However, if you bring up the pressure carefully, so your work doesn't slip, you can find a happy medium that neither lets the work piece slip or leave a mark. Otherwise, it's a strong tool and does what it says it does and works very well. I like it and would purchase it again if I lost it.

It does what is is suppose to do. It holds stuff down. I only gave it 4 stars because it gets in the way and is a pain to take off the drill press. Otherwise it works fine.

The clamp (Grizzly G8079 Quick Release Drill Press Clamp - 10") is easy to install; taking off from drill press is also easy. Clamping is tight. But it's shorter than 10" (about 9.5"). The minimum thickness of holding down item should be around 0.75 inch; I wish it could clamp thinner items without extra padding/spacing. Given the price, it's a good tool (just ordered 3 more).
