Grizzly G8622 Sliding Table Shaper

The machine arrived missing a leg. It was badly scuffed on the sides, the face plate and control arm.

The permanent metal plate incorrectly described this 5 HP single phase shaper as a 7.5 HP three phase machine. I'm trying to imagine how I can explain this to a buyer when trying to unload this.

Grizzly didn't seem surprised by these and other problems. They said they were unable to send a replacement leg because they did not have one and that perhaps I could find a metal fabricator to make and weld a replacement.

To make matters worse, it took hours just to report each problem and days for each response. Several other items were either missing or defective.

After Grizzly sent a tiny can of green paint and some of the missing and defective parts, I discovered that the motor spun backwards - a problem that again took hours to report on Grizzly's TOLL line and days for technician to tell me to rewire the motor. I suppose this would not be a problem if you're an electrician.

Whoever slapped this machine together had to be drunk or on drugs. Unfortunately, dealing with Grizzly customer service is even worse than the problems with their machines.

Amazon should not allow this poor excuse for a company on their site. This company obviously lacks in the quality control and customer service areas.

I have a workshop of top of the line Powermatic tools and, now, this piece of garbage. I have never experienced any problems with my many other machines and was amazed at how many things could be wrong with just one, brand new, Grizzly machine.

What a waste of time and money. I only wish I could give then less than one star - they do not deserve to be in business and they certainly don't deserve anyone's hard earned dollars.
