I love this lamp! I did a lot of cross stitch and had just about given it up (with lots of uncompleted projects) because I could no longer see the higher count threads on the linens that I loved to work with. With this lamp, I can see everything so clearly and because of the florescent lighting no more mixing up the colors. I really like that it sits by itself on the table rather than clamping onto things and potentially falling over. Compared to other magnifying lamps on the market, this is very reasonably priced and well worth every penny. I can stitch again!!! Thanks

I was pleased with the quick service when mail ordering this lamp and found the Lamp itself well worth the cost. It is extremely stable and adjusts to suit just about any angle you can come up with. The lighting is amazing. "I have even had neighbors come over to use it to pick slivers out of their fingers." Being an older person you'l find even this simple feat a major task without a Lamp like this. I give this lamp a 5 star and this company a 5 star for customer service.

And most importantly when you move the magnifier into the position you want, it just stays there

The base of the lamp that weights around 15lbs is separated from the brittle lamp with less than half inch of styrofoam. No wonder the bulb and the bulb shield came shattered, the styrofoam itself was sheared and flattened from the impact. I'm glad I ordered a spare bulb and I made it work. I've contacted Grizzly and I hope they will send me a spare bulb and new shield. The lamp housing is also scratched and dented in several places and there are two visible nicks on the lens, minor though, I can live with those. The packaging is totally inadequate for this product considering that we all know how UPS handles packages. The screws that hold the handle are loose and I can't fully tighten one of them, the thread must be worn out. Overall the lamp has rather cheap feeling (or it took that much beating by UPS). Also it has limited range of motion, you can't push it it all the way back for example. If it wasn't for the weight and trouble I'd probably send it back. I wouldn't recommend this lamp unless you can buy one from a regular store where you can pick it up yourself.

I received my lamp and it was broke. Like all the other reviews said very poor packaging. It was an xmas gift so I returned it for a new one. It has been 2 1/2 weeks and so far no replacement. I called Grizzly 4 times in one week and kept getting lied to that it had been sent out. Finally on Dec 21 I get to talk to a supervisor who said it wasnt even in stock. So needless to say I wont be getting it for Christmas. I will wait and see if it ever comes and what kind of condition it is in.

The lamp arrived very fast. I work close up with threads and a large well glass with good light is a must..The only complaint I had was that when I over extend the arm the base tips. I eliminated the problem by setting a 5 pound weight on the base.

Like a number of recent reviewers, my lamp arrived in a flimsy box with a tiny piece of styrofoam separating the heavy base from the lamp. The box was split open and barely prevented the lamp from falling out. The bulb shield was broken, but somehow the bulb survived. The metal lamp fixture was dented with paint chipping off. I'm using the lamp in a garage shop where it may suffer future abuse, so I'm not particularly concerned with its appearance. Otherwise, I would have returned it.

I'll be generous and give the lamp two stars, since it lights up and magnifies objects. If you want to get a lamp that looks new and is likely to survive the shipping journey, look elsewhere.

I got this lamp for xmas and it was smashed just like everyone else. I didn't look to see if it was new or used. I didn't want all the glass pieces to get all over so I just sealed it up.


There are way too many stories about these guys. I advise you NOT TO BUY THIS OR ANY PRODUCT FROM GRIZZLY.


I have just disputed this charge to my credit card company and will tell Grizzly what they can do with their lamp.

This magnifying lamp was of slightly less quality than I expected, but similar lamps were more than twice the price. A lens cover would have been a welcome feature. Overall - it gets the job done on my workbench.

I received my lamp and it was used!! I ordered a new lamp not a used one. It was scratched and scuffed. The packaging was atrocious. So obvious that it was sent to someone else and returned and then sent to me.
