This vertically configured Stirling Engine operates by converting heat energy into mechanical motion. The Stirling engine was originally developed as a safer alternative to high pressure steam engine boilers. This working model is powered by a clean burning alcohol burner. This kit includes the castings and raw parts needed to build the kit above. Parts must be machined on a mill with basic tooling to complete the kit. This is a great project for the beginning machinist. The finished kit measures 4-3/4"L x 4-3/4"W x 111/2"H. The base measures 7-1/8"L x 7-1/8"W.
