This review is from: Grizzwold (I Can Read Book 1) (Paperback)
I bought Grizwold for my three year old grand-daughter with a group of I can Read books. When she visits she invariably asks for us to read Grizwold first. The story is gentle-sad as it opens and the illustrations are comical and endearing. Although it was written thirty six years ago the book seems absolutely up-to-date in showing how an animal is driven from his environment by de-forestation, seeks a place to live, and finally arrives in a nature preserve where he can live happily ever...Griswold's expressions and gestures are wonderful, bear like yet human, and something in his manner catches the feelings of a child about a complicated world. Highly recommended.

Grizzwold can live with me!,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Grizzwold (An I Can Read Book) (Library Binding)
Grizzwold was a good book written by Syd Hoff. The story was about a huge bear named Grizzwold. He lived in the forest. The men came and cut down all the trees for paper. Grizzwold looked in the city zoo and circus. He found his home in the national park. I recommend this book because it is funny and sad. My favorite part was when Grizzwold went to the dance. The people thought he was wearing a costume. I was happy when he found a home.

Grizzwold,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Grizzwold (I Can Read Book 1) (Paperback)
This story is adout a bear Grizzwold. He was bigger than other bears. Other bears could fit in their caves, but Grizzlywold couldn't fit in his cave. So he slept outside by himself. He didn't mind. He had a nice coat of fur to keep him warm. I hope that people like it. I thought it was a great book.
