(updated 3.22.13) After extensive research, trial and error, and even a class on cloth diapering at the local birth center, I settled on the Grovia system and have not regretted that decision. My son is now 22 months and we have been using Grovia since about 8 weeks. We have lots of cloth diapering friends so I have had the chance to see lots of cloth diapers in action and I am very glad that I invested in grovia to begin with. Here are the products we use, why we like them and (in some cases) how they could be improved. There is a lot of material covered in this review. I am doing it this way because I wish there had been something comprehensive like this on Amazon when I was shopping for my diaper stuff! If you are considering buying a Grovia system, this will be helpful for you. If you are looking for a comprehensive review on just one item, other reviews may be more suitable.

Our total system consists of the following:
Essentials;
*15 All In One shells in a variety of prints and solids = 6 velcro and 9 snap GroVia Hybrid Snap Shell Diaper, Cloud, One Size
*36 Organic Grovia Inserts GroVia Certified Organic Cotton Soaker Pad 2 Pack
*Magic Stick diaper ointment Magic Stick All Natural Diaper Ointment, Clear, Net Wt. 2 oz.
*Brabantia Pedal Bin

After my second son was born I began to look into cloth diapering as a means to save money being a new SAHM. After extensive research I invested in the Grovia System due to the ease of use and flexibility. Other friends of mine who use pocket diapers, mainly Bumgenius and Fuzzibuns, all want to switch when they see me change my son (as odd as that sounds). With the Hybrid shells you do not need the large stash that you require with pocket diapers-although it does help to have a nice rotation. After wet diapers I simply snap out the used soaker pad (I use the stay dry soakers in the winter mainly and the organic cotton in the summer)and snap in a fresh one and tada, all done! No stuffing, no soaking, nada! These soakers pads are unlike their less shapely cousins of the cloth diapering world, they have gussets and a waterproof backing-much like a disposable. I have never had a "blow out" since starting these-my son is now 9 months old. The snaps are easy to use and we have had no trouble finding a proper fit with these. I do not use the Velcro only because I have a huge pet peeve against the laundry string when everything collects to them. Even though you do need to change cloth more often I have done a stretch of 4 hours without a change and have been fine. For night we do use a disposable-just easier and rather fail proof. I LOVE only using 1 disposable a day.
Typically I go through 2-3 shells a day and about 8-9 soaker pads. My current stash of 8 shells and 24 pads allows for a comfortable 2-3 day rotation until laundry day. I only line dry my shells-mine still look brand new even though I only own darker colors to distract from any staining. Any cloth liners/pads will stain, the sun is your BF in my experience.

I am a mom of 7, daycare provider and nurse. I have tried many kinds of cloth diapers the last couple of years, including AIO's, AI2's, pocket, hybrid, etc. I have reviewed a few other cloth diapers, if you would like to see my take on some other brands.

I actually got my Grovia's from diaperswapper's. A mama there bought 8 of them, and discovered she hated snaps and wanted a velcro option. Grovia wasn't my first choice to round out my diaper collection, but for the price she gave me, I didn't care whether or not these would end up my favorites.

I felt the Grovia was a little awkward at first. The direction the flaps/snaps go in felt backwards to me and my husband. I wasn't sure I like the snap in doubler. I got "used" to the diaper, tho, and found myself using them equally with my Kissaluvs.

Eventually, I found myself reaching for the Grovia's first, and only using my other brands of AIO's as backup when I run out of Grovia's. HERE'S WHY:

-They have always caught EVERY mess. Not once has my daughters poo got on her clothes.
- They are very trim. I can get them snug enough on her chubby legs to be leak-proof without cutting into her skin. They are designed to fit slim babies as well.
- I can vary the absorbency by using the snap in liner.
- The cotton is absorbent and reasonably soft...and STAYS the same, wash after wash. What you start off with is what you end up with. Many other diapers start off really super soft and end up with piling and increased scratchiness.
- Easy odor control. If you read my review of Kissaluvs, you will see that I like them alot. However, they build up odors over time, and have to be "stripped".
