Well, they do as advertised. Great for rooting cuttings. Soaked them in clonex
solution for about 5 minutes, inserted the cutting. Kept the cubes moist and under
strong lighting and in 2 weeks had roots on my cuttings. Jade trees of course..what
are you going to use them for??

Purchased this pack to go with our Tower Garden from Juice Plus. The cubes fit perfectly in the net pots, and these were much cheaper than ordering from elsewhere.

Been using the rockwool cubes a while now and they really perform well for me. I really like how they come individually wrapped in the sheets as that allows you to leave the wrapper on and lets me focus the root growth down (not a big issue just keeps any from coming out the lower sides of the mesh baskets where the misters might not completely cover the roots). They work great in hydroponic systems but are also pretty cool if you own one of those little indoor kitchen gardens for herbs and whatnot, you can tear off little pieces of these cubes and use them in that which is alot cheaper than buying their 'custom' ones.
Advice: the ph for cubes like this is a little higher than you will want for some growing, take some water and add your ph down solution OR you can use distilled white vinegar thought I have not found the vinegar to be quite as effective. You really want the ph in the cubes anywhere from 5.5-7.0, I usually aim for 6.0-6.5 and have no issues.

In my own humble opinion, these cubes work better than the A-ok plugs. More stable, hold moisture better, and the wool itself seems to be of higher quality.

These cubes are awesome in raft systems. I was using the baskets with hydrotons and I hated them. A must buy for any aquaponics system. Just heat up a 1 1/2" pipe and melt holes in the styrofoam and pop these babies neatly in the holes for the perfect grow (do some practice holes on a scrap piece till you get what you want!!!!).

These cubes makes starting plants from seed very easy. Once the seed has sprouted, it also makes it very easy to transplant because you can just pick up the cube with the sprouted seedling and stick the whole block in the hole. The blocks also support the young plant in its early stages of growth.

These rockwool cubes are a good way to start cuttings. Light, sterile, easy to handle and affordable. They do the trick.

After a month of use, I've found that Rockwool is much too basic and needs to be soaked much too long, with ending results that are too inconsistent. Rapid Rooters are pH neutral, only need to be soaked for a few minutes, and have a much higher rate of success. Balancing my Rockwool became too much of a chore. The low price is good if you need to keep your cost down and don't mind the extra effort though.
