From the Manufacturer

Grohe 31359DC0 Minta Touch-Activated Electronic Single-Handle Kitchen Faucet

Love at first touch

Busy cooks will fall in love with the stylish and contemporary Minta Touch Pull-Down Kitchen faucet with innovative touch technology. Operated by a 6V lithium battery, the sleek, gooseneck design provides the ability to start and stop the flow of water with a touch to the faucet’s spout, preventing the spread of bacteria. The spout conveniently swivels 360 degrees and the a pull-down spray head with dual spray functions—regular flow and spray—can be activated by the push of a button.

The faucet also allows for manual operation to dispense hot and cold water via the side handle which is equipped with Grohe SilkMove technology for smooth, precise control. Available in scratch-resistant, non-tarnishing Grohe StarLight chrome or SuperSteel InfinityFinish, Minta Touch Pull-Down faucet stands 15 1/8-in. tall and has a flow rate of 1.75 gpm.

Touch operation

Minta Touch Pull-Down Kitchen faucet is equipped with touch technology, allowing busy cooks to start and stop the flow of water with a simple touch on the faucet’s spout using their wrist, forearm or the back of their hand. Touch technology prevents cross contamination in the kitchen and helps keep the faucet’s surface clean and free of bacteria.

Easy handling, precision control

Minta's handle incorporate a Grohe SilkMove cartridge for effortless control of water volume and temperature. Unlike other manufacturers, SilkMove cartridges are made in-house and contain gliding ceramic disks that are coated with a specially formulated Teflon coating for friction-free movement.

Durable ceramic cartridge

In addition to operating with ease and precision, Minta's handle is designed for long-lasting performance. Instead of the plastic discs used in other faucets, SilkMove cartridges feature discs made of durable ceramic to ensure extreme wear resistance and reliability for years to come.

Made to last

Minta comes in a lustrous finish that will not fade with time. Available on the full spectrum of Grohe finishes, Grohe StarLight technology uses a unique layered plating process to protect faucet surfaces against dirt, scratches and tarnish. Faucets retain their brilliance through years of use.

SpeedClean anti-lime system - Easy cleaning

Maintenance is simple with Grohe SpeedClean technology, which protects the spray nozzles against limescale buildup. Cleaning is as easy as wiping a finger across the sprayface.

Dual spray functions

The spray head of Minta Touch Pull-Down faucet comes with a locking spray control that allows users to transition between two spray modes—regular flow and spray—with a push of a button.

Installation Video

Installation is surprisingly easy. Just follow the easy steps shown in the installation video and the Minta Touch will be ready to use in no time.

Installation video is available above near the main product image and can also be found on the Grohe website.

Now after living with it, I hate the idea of this faucet.
Jennifer Christensen
The touch only has cold water, not warm and will turn off in 60 seconds so that is useful and we have kids so I guess it is for the best.

If you touch the handle it turns on, if you try to move rotate the faucet it turns on/off.

"Our old Moen faucet died and I needed a replacement - it was between this and the new delta touch and I was sold on the quality of this product. Not even close. Needless to say the installation is pretty complex but I have installed countless faucets both european and american. The problem is they are missing adapters to the american 3/8 inch supply lines and you cannot find them. When putting on the spout the o rings snapped and they are non- standard size. When installing the touch control under the sink the lines are too short and kink. Called customer service and they acknowledged that parts were missing in a shipment! The lady was very rude. They offered to send them but it would take a week - seriously. For $450 I expect better service."

I wanted to put a postscript on here after a week of using the faucet. I hope that one of the engineers of the product reads this and takes it into consideration. So when you touch the faucet you kind of have to hold it for a bit to get the water to come on, you can adjust this but it is a bit tricky. The touch only has cold water, not warm and will turn off in 60 seconds so that is useful and we have kids so I guess it is for the best. Big problem though. The handle is also touch - so when you turn on the hot water it thinks that you only want cold and acts accordingly. Getting hot water out of this thing is a bit of a trick - you have to turn on the touch first, then use the handle to turn on the hot water (turns off the auto cold) then when you turn it off you have to turn off the handle and then touch again to turn off the auto water! Bad engineering. They should have made the hot/cold handle non touch sensitive and I may make a cover for it so that it is not. Also note that on auto water pressure is very high. Other than that the kids love playing with it, but like the ipad more.

This is like living in a house with a haunted faucet. There's something seriously wrong with this faucet. I had mine professional installed. Faucet Came with no directions ,
The touch part workd after trying it for a bit but it is irrational . You give it a tap and its on at full speed with cold water.you touchit again to turn it off but if you slam a drawer it will also turn itseft on.
Kichens cabnet door closing and a making a sharp noise turns on the faucet full force. Was sitting in the kitchen
Quietly reading and it turned itselfon..Grohe seems to be no help. Much as I love
The features I am going to try to disconnect the electronic feature and use It as an ordinary Faucet.

Customer service was snotty to my very experienced plumber and I certainly will stick to more ordinary faucets for thr rest of my jobs

So far our plumber came here twice and spent more than 2 hours to try to fix it. First, it was only working by touching the pipes under the sink. After talking to the Grohe rep, he was told to reinstall it completely and isolated all the pipes under the cabinet (not specified in the instructions provided with the unit). Worked well for about 3 hours, then it started to open by itself again. This morning, it first refused to work by touch, then we captured on film when it started to open by itself, and when it also refused to shut off by touching it (we then couldn't close it at all, except than shutting off the water valve under the cabinet!!!!). We agree with the first comments of this post -- very bad engineering. We are told that the rep will call us. We will request a full refund of the unit and the plumber costs. Cannot live with the fear of having water spill on our new oak floor if the water start to flow by itself when we are not in the house... We are told that some customers are removing the battery and using the faucet as a non-touch one. We might have to do that ourselves.

Follow up to my earlier post:
The rep came to our house and it turns out that the instructions provided are not clear enough. The 'red connector' need to be pressed with pliers so that the connection with the black ground wire be effective. It is now working as it should, but the fact that it is impossible to have warm water when we use the 'touch' function (believe it or not you only get cold water) we asked the store for an exchange for a non-touch faucet. Why would someone wash their hands under cold water, specially when it is minus 30 outside...

So the faucet itself it decent, but i would expect more from Grohe. The water stream is very concentrated, so if you have a decent amount of water pressure it tends to spray everywhere when doing dishes, etc. I had to turn down my undersink valves to limit flow to fix this.
Now to the horrible part. The touch feature absolutely sucks. Yes its nice to turn on cold water with your forearm, but other than that is horrible. If you touch the handle it turns on, if you try to move rotate the faucet it turns on/off. so basically no matter where you touch it it turns on/off. The really annoying part is that when you adjust your water with the handle, let's say lukewarm, the cold water auto part turns on/off when your using the faucet. I made sure my sink itself is grounded like the instruction say and I turned down sensitivity but to no avail. I'll be doing some dished with lukewarm water and bam, cold water turns on and turns cold high pressure stream, I have to touch the faucet again to turn it off., then 20 seconds later it happens again. Needless to say I'm probably pulling this thing out and selling it.

They should have had the engineers install one in their home for a few weeks and then they would have redesigned it. How about only the faucet itself or just a part of it for the touch feature? Also good luck using the spray head, who knows what you're going to hose down when you try to use it.
