Replacement hose For Ladylux faucets

Customer Questions & Answers

Customer Reviews

It was so easy to install and works great.

The original hose lasted nearly 15 years before it started coming apart and leaking, so I figured an OEM replacement was well worth it for another 15 years.

Definitely better than replacing the entire faucet (and much cheaper as well).

The original hose lasted nearly 15 years before it started coming apart and leaking, so I figured an OEM replacement was well worth it for another 15 years. It took a while to figure out how to get the old hose out from underneath the sink, especially with how cramped it is under there. I finally figured it out - Grohe uses something they call a "quick coupling" that you can squeeze down and pull to release the hose from the underside of the sink, similar to some garden hose attachments that we have used. I've uploaded a couple of pictures of the quick coupling to help anyone else out that is going through the replacement process.

I found that my Grohe Ladylux faucet hose was ripped last night around 6:30pm. I searched online and found this hose on Amazon, and ordered it around 7pm. It arrived TODAY at about 1pm and it was installed by 1:30pm. Only 19 hours from diagnosis to completion? Are you kidding me? Amazingly fast shipping by Amazon, and an extremely easy replacement part to install. I am in awe of how easy this was. Oh, and Amazon was $30 cheaper than the other website that I saw this part at. Thanks Amazon.

I purchased an off brand at my local hardware store to replace a Grohe hose in my kitchen sink. After getting it installed, which was a terrible hassle, it ended up breaking shortly after. So I purchased this Grohe hose. It was so easy to install and works great. I just wished I would have purchased this product in the first place. Don't make the same mistake I did - just buy this hose first.

My wife finally managed to kill the hose after she had previously killed the sprayer head. Replacing the two parts (sprayer and hose) were still less than replacing the entire faucet. How do these hoses break you ask? Kinking them. They're just like flexible electrical whips (the flexible metal conduits used on central air conditioners and the like). They're coiled metal and, once you over flex it, the coil kinks. There's no going back from that. How to avoid that? Pull more hose out of the faucet and hold the sprayer with one hand and support the hose with the other. Some people think that because they're covered in metal they are invincible. They are not.

Installation was a breeze, with it taking longer to empty the cabinet than to perform the repair. You don't even have to turn off the water supply as the faucet itself is sufficient to stop the water flow. First, disconnect the spray head by unscrewing the sprayer from the hose. The connection should be no more than hand tight. (remember the old "lefty loosey" saying)

Now crawl under the sink. Here's the trick.... the yellow fitting on the end of the hose is a "click" fitting. Slide the yellow plastic portion down while pushing up on the end of the hose, and it will disconnect. You will notice that there is a spring on the hose that prevents you from pulling the entire hose out of the faucet and kinking it (which is how it breaks - as described above). Look at the end of the hose where the yellow quick connector is. You will notice that those two parts separate. Taking a narrow open end wrench (I used a small miniature set of slip joint channel locks - a wider wrench might not fit between the yellow fitting and the metal hose end fitting), unscrew the yellow connector from the hose.

I have to replace our spray relacement hose every 3 or 4 years due to the severe abuse from the family. This item was a perfect replacement and easy to install once you figure out the proper order of the long return spring and retainers. Be sure to make a mental note of the way it fits together before your dismantle the old hose.

The seller sent the right part, and on time. No worries there.

Grohe is hard to deal with because the documentation (exploded diagrams, parts lists) on their web site doesn't have part numbers matching what is current. For example, if you are in need of this hose you may also want to get the quick disconnect coupling Grohe 46 138 000 Quick Coupling - Yellow, but according to Grohe's documentation, the part number should be 46315, not 46138. My coupling looked fine until I tried to attach the hose, when it promptly split. I also replaced the spray head Grohe 46 298 IE0 LadyLux Replacement Pull-Out Spray Head, Chrome as well. My sink faucet is about 15 years old and this is the second time I have replaced the spray head (they clog with gunk and hard water deposits) and the first time for the hose and quick coupling. I've also had the supply feed tubes spring leaks. The spray head comes with two cartridges but you should only use one and there is no documentation as to which does what (one is black and one is green; the second is not just a spare for the first).

This item was a direct replacement for my Grohe Ladylux faucet. The original hose broke after about 5 years of usage, and this is an all-metal shell replacement that was a quick and easy direct replacement. I didn't want to go with the universal hoses that Home Depot or Lowe's offered since the original lasted so long. Being that this is part of the sink and faucet that is used most in the house (the kitchen), I felt it was better to go with OEM. Pricey, but worth it.
