A good helping of humor is good for potential grooms, but most of us need more substantial info along with it. This book does provide a few good laughs (like the description of a diamond as an "overdigested lump of coal -- the kidney stone of earth's urinary tract)," but if you are looking for actual guidance - which you most likely will need - look elsewhere in the handful of books for grooms.

I bought this book for my fiance hoping he could have a little fun with it. We've decided to return it pretty quickly -- while it starts our funny enough -- it quickly denegrates into non-funny jokes that indicate that there is NOTHING positive about getting married at all (meeting her parents -- no matter what her mother does means she's coming on the the groom). I expected a book of humor with some practical advice on how to get through it -- I found some humor, but nothing worth keeping.

Not only did this book not impress me but my fiancee thought it was terrible as well. Most of the authors' attempts at humor are unsuccessful, and most importantly, this book contains little valuable information for anyone who actually wants information on how to get smoothly through the engagement and wedding process. If you want a helpful manual save your money! This is not it.

This book, albeit comical at times, was a total waste of my time and money, not a very good read, pretty much all the same jokes you hear as you are preparing to be wed, yada, yada, yada.
Save your cash for the expensive reception dinner.

I received this book as a gift and expected to be bored senseless with useless bits of tired advice. I was thrilled to be wrong. This book was both FUNNY and ENLIGHTENING. I highly reccommend this book to all marrying men. Everyone needs to laugh before the big day and this book delivers.

Getting married is stressful and with this book I got through it with a smile. No one ever tells the truth about this stuff.

These guys do. In a hilarious, witty, advice filled romp through the wedding process. This was just what the wedding doctor ordered. You can tell the authors have been through this and retained some perspective. My fiance'( now my wife) buys this for any friend of hers that is getting married.

If you want a quick smart funny wedding read, if you want the truth because you can handle the truth then I urge you to get this book right away.

Not very funny. Can't anybody write a decent book for men on the subject of weddings?

The authors' sitcom-writing experience shows in this nonstop blizzard of jokes about weddings, marriage, and relationships. A cross between David Letterman and Mad Magazine. Though targeted at guys, will appeal to anyone. There's poignancy and brutal honesty beneath the thick blanket of funny.

My fiance and I stayed up one night reading this book and almost wet the bed, we were laughing so hard. This is a book that can bring a couple together during potentially trying times.

As a recent bride, I came across this book and couldn't put it down! Thank God my husband didn't read it before our wedding, or there may not have been one... Marsh and Blumenfeld are masters at capturing the exact moment of discomfort and turning it into a riot fest!
