I never heard of these guys until I saw a video of them about two months ago. I couldn't believe what I was seeing and hearing. Where have these guys been and did I miss them? They are a trio out of Michigan which includes Organ, guitar, and drums. These guys have incredible chops and play with great authority. They have a unique sound and don't pretend to be something they are not. They stick to their sound and exploit it. This is refreshing in today's music market. They have three albums out which are all outstanding but this one "Groovadelphia" IMO is the best yet. If you like a mix of Jazz and Blues don't miss this one. Once you pick this one up I'll bet you go out and pick up the other two. (Which are both excellent) The recording is excellent and really shows off the trio with great clarity and separation of the musicians. When I give a listen to my friends I always get "Who are these guys?" "These guys Rock" and "Where did you find these guys?" Don't miss out on picking this up. They play with passion and fire. Highly recommended. One of the best albums I have hear this entire year. |
