I liked learning about the cane toad and the harpy eagle. I liked them because the cane toad can swallow a snake and the harpy eagle can swallow things bigger than itself. I liked the book because it had alot of information about animals that do gross things. This book is cool!

My boys love this book and all the revolting little factoids it contains. My son had a gently-used book exchange at school and since we really don't have a huge library to choose from, we told him he could take his favorite to exchange and that we'd buy him a new one to replace it. He was so excited to share it and the recipient was very happy, as well. A very fun book!

Purchased for my 7 yr. old granddaughter, she loved the book. She has requested I purchase her Freak Out and several other books by this author. I love that she is asking for books, reading is one of the things that we share together.

My 7 year old son loves these books. They're engaging and fun and both of us have learned from them. If your child has any interest in animals I highly recommend these books.

My son does not particularly enjoy reading himself, but this book series is one that he happily read. I highly recommend for any child that is interested in animals and some of the gross and interesting things that they do. We went to the zoo after reading this series too and my son had a ball seeing some of the animals from this series. He thinks these books are cool.

I work with struggling readers and have difficulty finding books with very high interest and low reading level. This book worked like a charm for my students. They were devouring it and even asked if they could borrow one of my classroom set books to take home after we finished reading it. The recipe at the end is also a great lesson for following directions!!!

Gross Out! is not a misnomer. You'll learn all kinds of gross and disgusting -- but fascinating! -- facts about the animal world. I'll admit my daughter doesn't find this as appealing as Freak Out!, Clarke's earlier book in the series, but she did like learning about the different things animals do for survival.

This may be a well written book, but when my son brought it home from his Kindergarden library I am honestly astonished at what is being allowed to be read! The rating on this book states ages 4-8. My son is 5 and frankly I think he is still too young. It talks about different animals "mating" and the disgusting things that it explains about the animals is too much for little ears!!
