Book Description

January 6, 2009
"Stickers are great communicators," says Mrs. Grossman. "They say things without words." No longer just for kids, stickers are a great new art form—just like scrapbooking or quilting. Want to refresh your child’s lunch box, dress up your telephone list, make a picture frame, or create exquisite invitations? Sticker art is the answer. You can find all these projects and much more in Mrs. Grossman’s Sticker Magic. Start with simple two-sticker combinations and work your way to advanced compositions. Learn to create scenes using basic design principles. Create dramatic and exciting three-dimensional artwork by raising ("popping") stickers with foam mounting tape. From the rolls of simple red heart stickers to the textured, color-coordinated products offered today, Mrs. Grossman’s Paper Company—the largest designer and manufacturer of decorative stickers in the country—has led the way. Included is a pocket with a sheet of Mrs. Grossman’s stickers, selected exclusively for this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars A superbly illustrated and presented guide to sticker art and the creative world of sticker decoration, June 2, 2006
Recognized as the woman who invented the first sticker and subsequently pioneered the entire sticker industry, Andrea Grossman founded Mrs. Grossman's Paper Company more than twenty-five years ago with rolls of red heart stickers and launched a specialized crafts industry that has now gained popularity world wide. Mrs. Grossman's Sticker Magic, by Andrea Grossman and Leslie C. Carola is a superbly illustrated and presented guide to sticker art and the creative world of sticker decoration. Introducing readers to the fun and active art of sticker production, Mrs. Grossman's Sticker Magic offers readers such fun sticker projects as the Star Folding Album; Classic Flourish Gatefold Card; the Torn, Folded Vellum; and the Pup Fabric Frame. A simply outstanding showcase collection of remarkably entertaining activities. Mrs. Grossman's Sticker Magic is very highly recommended for artistic hobbyists, and most particularly for sticker enthusiasts.

I have been using Mrs. Grossman's stickers for many years but this book inspired me. I have made several cards, since buying this book, and everyone has been very happy and amazed that it was a handmade card. The explanations/how-to are clear and concise and if you purchase it new, you get stickers in the back of the book--- always a plus!

5.0 out of 5 stars I Love this Book, June 17, 2009
I just love this book. It's beautifully illustrated and includes all the templates which you can use as is or adapt for yours own creative ideas. The template for pop-up cards is one I plan to use frequently.

I used to think sticker art was pretty kitschy, but no more. There are some really elegant projects included like beautiful Asian boxes with rolled paper bead embellishments.
