Book Description

Four breathtakingly romantic tales of a Regency Christmas from four bestselling romance authors.

Down through the years, enchantment touches a tall gray house in Grosvenor Square. The legend of Lady Winterson’s Christmas ball promises true love and happiness to one lucky couple. Who will feel the magic this winter?

1803 - The Seduction of a Duchess by Shana Galen

Rowena Harcourt, the Duchess of Valère, never forgot the handsome footman who helped her escape the French Revolution. For fourteen years, Gabriel Lamarque has loved Rowena—now at Lady Winterson’s Christmas ball, has fate finally delivered a chance to win her hand?

1818 - One Kiss for Christmas by Vanessa Kelly

Nigel Dash is London’s most reliable gentleman, a reputation he never minded until he fell in love with beautiful Amelia Easton. Unfortunately, Amelia sees Nigel as a dependable friend, not a dashing suitor. At Lady Winterson’s famous Christmas ball, Nigel vows to change Amelia’s mind—by sweeping her off her feet.

1825 - His Christmas Cinderella by Anna Campbell

At the season’s most glittering ball, a girl who has never dared to dream of forever after discovers a Christmas miracle.

1830 - The Last First Kiss by Kate Noble

Susannah Westforth has always loved Sebastian Beckett – but he’s only ever seen her as a friend. When Sebastian takes his Grand Tour, Susannah transforms herself into a woman he’ll notice. Now Sebastian is back, just in time for Lady Winterson's Christmas ball – but the last thing he expects to see is his little Susie, all grown up...

You’re invited to join the whirling dance at Lady Winterson’s sparkling Christmas ball, where miracles happen and true love shines forever. How can you resist?

5.0 out of 5 stars Regency Merry Christmas October 16, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
A Grosvenor Square Christmas is an anthology of short stories by four well known historical romance writers. They are loosely tied together as they occur at different Christmas balls hosted by Lady Winterson. She and her butler are the only recurring characters in the 4 stories. The stories are well written and fans of the authors will note that most of the romantic leads were secondary characters in other stories. Three of the stories are sweet romances with a very spicy Anna Campbell contribution.

With the exception of Anna Campbell's story, the stories fit the short story format well. HIS CHRISTMAS CINDERELLA would have made a better novella or even full length novel. Campbell's novels are always steamy and in the shortened format, it overwhelms the plot.

All of the authors are gifted in their genre and the anthology was short and breezy at 166 pages. For 99 cents, it was a steal.

5.0 out of 5 stars AN EARLY CHRISTMAS PRESENT November 5, 2013
By susan
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Four awesome authors have given us readers an early Christmas present. I highly recommend A GROSVENOR SQUARE CHRISTMAS! These four short stories are entirely different. The connecting thread is the annual Christmas ball at No. 3 Grosvenor Place. There is magic to be found there. The ball is given by Lady Lucy Frost, Countess of Winterson. With help from her butler, Philbert and some well placed mistletoe, four couples just might find their happily ever after. I enjoyed all four stories very much.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun Christmas stories of magical romance October 28, 2013
By Jo Anne
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
In this charming collection of Holiday short stories, the fantasy of traditional romance is presented in its best form. Each year, Lucy Frost, the widowed Countess of Winterson, hosts a winter ball, the crush of the season, and each year, one lucky couple finds their happily-ever-after there. After all, there is magic to be found at the Christmas Ball, at No. 3 Grosvenor Place. One only must look in the right place.

Part of the fun is the simplicity of the stories. They're short. So it's all about the romance. Part of the fun is that it happens for secondary characters of other stories written by the authors, characters who deserve their own HEA.

My favorite is the first story, The Seduction of a Duchess, by Shana Galen. I love the adventuresome romps Shana writes, quick-paced fun, with lots of meaty emotion and depth in her characters. This is Rowena's story, mother to Julien, Bastien and my favorite hero of all time, Armand, from her Sons of the Revolution series. Rowena attends the ball with her family, and meets Gabriel, their former footman who helped her and Julien escape the fateful night years ago when her life changed forever. Gabriel, ten years her junior, is now titled thanks to his service to England as the infamous spy, the French Fox. Ms. Galen doesn't disappoint, when Rowena crosses the lines of age differences and social status and steps into his arms.

The second story is One Kiss For Christmas, by Vanessa Kelly. Nigel Dash is a good man, a kind man, a man who cares about people. So often in romance novels, we love the bad boys, the tortured souls who find happiness with the right woman. But even romance readers know the truth. A smart woman wants a husband like Nigel.

5.0 out of 5 stars Holiday Treat! November 3, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
A Grosvenor Square Christmas is a delightful holiday treat. Four historical authors have contributed stories to this anthology which takes place during the holiday season. Lady Winterson and her butler Philbert provide mistletoe and holiday cheer in each story.

Shana Galen's Seduction of a Duchess was my favorite story. I enjoyed Galen's Sons of the Revolution series and was pleased that Rowena was given a second chance for romance, love and happiness! I enjoyed the older woman/younger man romance. This story was sweet, sexy and believable.

I loved the characters in Vanessa Kelly's One Kiss for Christmas. Lady Winterson and Philbert provide Amelia Easton with an unique opportunity to see Nigel Dash as a charming, caring suitor instead of a friend. This story was truly magical.

His Christmas Cinderella was author Anna Campbell's contribution to the anthology. The story is a sexy romance with two main characters who tug at your heart and has a surprise ending.

Kate Noble's The Last First Kiss is a sweet story. Both Lady Winterson and Philbert assist our hero Sebastien realize that our heroine Sussannah is not the little girl he left behind. I enjoyed this story because there was quite a bit of holiday magic involved and there were two couples who found love at the holiday ball!!

A Grosvenor Square Christmas is a collection of short stories by some truly amazing authors. The Seduction of a Duchess, by Shana Galen was great. I loved that Rowena finally got her happily ever after! One Kiss for Christmas, by Vanessa Kelly was a very cute story. His Christmas Cinderella by Anna Campbell was very touching and I loved the characters. The Last First Kiss, by Kate Noble was a touching story of a girl growing into a woman and winning her man.

4.0 out of 5 stars 4 stars December 22, 2014

I read this collection last year and just reread it so I could write a review. I think I actually enjoyed the first two stories more upon the second reading.

The Seduction of a Duchess by Shana Galen - 5 stars
Lady Winterson's Christmas ball brings together the Duchess de Valere and the man who saved her life during the French Revolution fifteen years ago. He is ten years younger, but has carried a torch for her for all these years. Could she dare to embrace a future with him? This one stretches the suspension of disbelief, but it's so sweet and well written that I didn't care. I just went with it and enjoyed the story.

One Kiss for Christmas by Vanessa Kelly - 5 stars
Nigel Dash is In love with Amelia Easton, the most popular girl in the ton. She even has a wealthy, pompous Lord vying for her hand. How can Nigel get her to notice him and not get friend-zoned? At Lady Winterson's annual Christmas party, he tries on a dashing new persona, but what really wins her over is his way with the children and her belief he'll be a caring husband and father. Very sweet.

His Christmas Cinderella by Anna Campbell - 2 stars
I really hated this storyline. Spoilers ahead.... It's about a poor relation/companion who becomes a mistress to a lord and falls in love with him. She is being sent back to the country, so rather than saying a distressing goodbye, she slips away without a word after their final assignation. He wanted to propose to her, so he gets his mother to go to her house with a new dress and invite her to Lady Winterson's ball so we can propose to her there. Then she rebuffs his proposal! What? That's two storylines I dislike... 1) poor innocents who become mistresses and 2) women who protest marrying the man they love, which is just dumb in my opinion.
