A good Groucho introduction CD., July 26, 2010
This review is from: Groucho On Radio! (Audio CD)
For those that aren't familiar with Groucho Marx, this would be a good one to teethe on. Not a lot of material on here, for a CD, but enough to give you the feel of the smart alec comedy he was famous for.
There's an introduction, by Groucho, from 1972 and you can really hear his age.
A short Marx Brothers bit.
Hearing him go back and forth with the affectionately over-stuffed Tallulah Brockman Bankhead, to me, was hilarious. "Speaking of strange figures, what are you doing after the show?"
And a parody of his famous "You Bet Your Life" quiz show.
