This review is from: Three Parts upon a Ground (17th-Century Music for Three Violins) /Holloway * Richie * Manze * North * Springfels (Audio CD)
Musical alchemy may be a way to describe these baroque chamber pieces. It is practically impossible to do anything that requires your concentration while you are listening to them. In Holland we have an applicable expression: "it makes you sit at the tip of your chair". Apart from the intricate playing, the story of the origin of these pieces (you can read it in the booklet) is puzzling and contributes to their overall mysterious aura.

But dont read the booklet while listening to the disc. This is not very suitable music to play in the background.
