The best Brass band cd I've ever heard. Solo playing exellent with some of the best players in the world.

I started watching this show a few months back and now I am absolutely hooked. It has become my weekend ritual to watch Alan, Charlie, and Tommy plus the oft forgot Willy create beautiful landscapes from dreary little areas of waste. Now that I have this cd, I can go with the same zeal and energy of the Ground Force team I have grown to love. This music is lively and graceful. A real compliment to any collection. Hopefully, the BBC will see fit to put the Ground Force out on DVD so we can all watch when we want and catch the episodes not seen!

This is a wonderful CD to buy, ground force fan or not. The entire band is quite talented, with some of the soloists being, quite frankly, amazing (this is coming from a brass player himself). Many of the solo's are very emotional. The writing of the music is also quite wonderful, and unlike many CDs, pretty much every song is great. Many of the songs are not in the TV show itself, yet still fit the general theme. Don't be driven off by the weird names.

Overall a great buy and very worth the price, especially if you're a brass player or fond of brass music.

Excellent recording from BDMB. A must have in your British style brass band collection.

The theme music from the BBC's Ground Force series gives you a clue as to the energizing march through this cd. Enjoy slower, softer lyrical moments, too, for a rest between. My family frequents 2 British pubs (in the middle of Iowa!) and I get to Canada or listen to CBC whenever I can for music such as this. Good old fashioned music appreciable for the 21st century, thanks to the hugely popular Ground Force gang makes you want to grab a spade and have at whatever needs tidying and refurbishing around the house.
