This well regarded series for students taking the commerical and airline transport pilot licences has been substantially revised to bring it into line with the new European Joint Aviation Requirements (JARs) for flight crew licensing. Each volume deals with the material required by one of the new JAR papers.

This volume covers meteorology and has been written to cover the changes in the syllabus by the Joint Aviation Authority. Many test questions and answers have been included, based on the JAR syllabus

About the Author

The late Roy Underdown was Principal of the College of Air Training, Hamble. John Standen was a Chief Flying Instructor for many years, including a period as a military QFI with the Royal Saudi Air Force in Riyadh. After retiring from active flying he became a consultant to the UK government on the implementation and operation of meteorological satellite imaging and data systems in Africa. He was Senior Met Instructor for SEACOAT at Manston and PPSC in Bournemouth, training pilots for the JAA examinations. He now runs consolidation courses for ‘Pilot Assist’ at Alconbury and is employed at the European Pilot Training Academy at Bournemouth Airport, where he teaches meteorology, air law and human performance. He also provides private tuition.
