More About the Author

Jane Worthen, was born in Melrose, MA in 1938. From 1950 to 1953 the family lived on the island of Inagua, The Bahamas, where Jane was tutored under the British Calvert School System. On returning to the States, her parents bought and operated an inn in NH. Jane felt New Hampshire was her true home. It was in high school that she became interested in writing short stories. While attending the University of NH, she married Ed Chartrand, and they embarked on Ed's 23 year career as an Air Force officer. Their first son was born in 1959. Unable to have more children, over the next twelve years, they adopted 7 special needs children, some mixed race, some older, some with medical problems. The adoption of a teenage brother and sister failed, but the other six children are all working in professional careers, as a CEO; 3 Engineers, etc. Besides writing, Jane's interests lie in studies of Reincarnation; all kinds of needlework, music and reading. She and her husband, Ed, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2008 with the whole family spending a week at a NH inn. Her two favorite "pals," are her Scottish Terriers, MacDuff and Fergus. They spend summer at their cottage in VT.
