Keep in mind that these adapters do not change the voltage! You need a converter for that (if you really need to change the voltage). The U.S. uses 120V at 60Hz where Australia and New Zealand use 240V at 50Hz.

Before plugging devices into this, you need to make sure that they can withstand 240V. If not, you may damage the device if you use this. You can easily check by reading the fine print on the device, the plug, or the power transformer that goes with the device. Worst case, you should be able to find this information in the manual. Devices will specify an "Input" range. For this to work, the range needs to extend up to 240V. For example, most compatible devices will say: Input 110V-240V, 50Hz-60Hz.

If the input voltage does not go up to 240V, then you need to buy a converter that will convert 240V down to 120V. Search for "travel converter" on Amazon.

Don't let this scare you. Just make sure you do your homework in advance. You will be pleasantly surprised that most devices support the higher input voltage since they are made to be sold internationally and fit with different plugs. You don't need to buy a large converter and carry it around if you don't need it.

This grounded adapter will work for 2 prong or 3 prong devices. You can alternatively buy an adapter without a ground, but it will only work for 2 prong devices.

We bought the grounded and regular version of this adapter for a trip to New Zealand and Australia.

My wife and I recently visited Australia and used this adapter extensively for hair dryer, curling iron and cell phone charger. No problems encountered whatsoever.

I pruchased both this item and the two prong version. I only used the three version as all outlets in Australia are grounded. Good and sturdy, it performed well. My only complaint is that the female end is recessed which makes it difficult if you have a cube tap or transformer to plug in - one then has to use an extender with the adapater.

I ordered the America to China adapter and when it arrived I found that I ordered the wrong one. When I called the company I told them I made a mistake and needed the China to America adapter. They were very helpful and replaced it immediately. Didn't cost me a dime for postage. Works great, very pleased.

This adapter does exactly what it is supposed to do. It converts the standard US grounded prongs to fit NZ outlets. It does not convert the power, but I used it for my laptop which has that little box in the middle of the power cord designed to already do that. I was very happy to have this as none of my other adapters were grounded, and I wanted to make sure my computer still was.

This product is worth the money, as long as you do not care how it looks.
The only thing to keep in mind is that this converts the plug, not the voltage; you still need a voltage adapter if your appliance does not already support the required wall voltage.

Merchant shipped wrong product but made good on replacement in quickly in time for upcoming travel date.

This adapter is poorly designed. It is impossible to push the plugs of any of my devices into the complicated socket of this adapter. To succeed at doing this one has to risk breaking either the plug or the socket. It is completely a waste of money.
