About the Author
DON YODER is a pioneer in the study of American regional and ethnic cultures. He was cofounder of the Pennsylvania Folklife Society, longtime editor of the journal Pennsylvania Folklife, and professor of folklife studies at the University of Pennsylvania for four decades. He is the author of several books, including Hex Signs and Discovering American Folklife.
