This review is from: Groundwater in Geologic Processes (Paperback)
If one wants a treatment of the impact of groundwater on geologic processes this is certainty NOT the book for it. The author mentions a subject, acknowledges that it exist and that people have written about it and that's about it. There is a sense of rambling about the book, equations for groundwater flow are given a few paragraphs, dropped and another subject entered into and given a few more paragraphs. Detailed explanations and practical examples are non-existent. It would have been nice if a quantitative example of groundwater effecting a geologic process could be provided, but none was. Nor are there even explanations of how groundwater effecting this on that process. Indeed this book must qualify as largely worthless for either a student, professional or hobbyist.

For a better discussion of the impact of groundwater on geologic processes any geomorphology, physical geography or hydrogeology book would be better than this. I recommend Fetter's Applied Hydrogeology, Ritter' Process Geomorphology and Strahler's Physical Geography.

This review is from: Groundwater in Geologic Processes (Paperback)
There is no basic knowledge here, no clear explanations for terms, theories or equations, but there are some equations or conclusions here which are extremely difficult to understand, and sometimes are almost seemingly wrong (actually there is error after I confirm it with the teacher). If you really want to understand what the writer talks about, you need to read a dozen of extra books and spend plenty of extra time. However, if you are a relevant professor or an expert, you might love this book.
