About the Author

Dr. Bert Carron is a Fellow in the American Academy of Kinesiology and Physical Education, the Association for the Advancement of Applied Sport Psychology, and the Canadian Psychomotor Learning and Sport Psychology Association. He has been a president of the Canadian Association for Sport Sciences and is currently a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Sport and Exercise Psychology, in addition to serving as the editor of the Journal of Applied Sport Psychology. Bert's writings include 34 books, monographs, or chapters in books and over 100 refereed publications in scientific journals.

Dr. Heather A. Hausenblas recently earned her Ph.D. in sport and exercise psychology from the University of Western Ontario. In addition to giving frequent presentations at national and international scientific and professional conferences, Dr. Hausenblas has published her research in the Journal of Sport and Exercise Psychology, the International Journal of Sport Psychology, and The Sport Psychologist. In 1996, she was the recipient of the Young Scientist of Canada Award for Scholarly Achievement from the Canadian Society for Psychomotor Learning and Sport Psychology. Her interests include teaching fitness classes, and she is a National Certified Fitness Instructor. Over the past 3 years, Dr. Hausenblas has served as editorial assistant for the Journal of Applied Sport Psychology.
