5.0 out of 5 stars Groups of 12 - Joel Comiskey
I was given the book by a pastor friend. Highly valuable info re. G-12 model for cell church development. Easy to read, clear chapter outlay, well researched, practical implementation principles, very helpful section on how other churches have implemented this.

This books gives you a great game-plan to grow a church. Unfortunately, this system has some problems. The primary problem is that there is such a focus on church growth that individual people are left behind. If you're not growing the church, you become part of the problem. This book reviews the G12 model in a practical manner. It is easy to read yet thorough in its treatment. Contrary to what one individual said in a previous review, the book does NOT overlook the individual. The very concept of G12 is to give a full discipleship to the individual reflective of what Jesus did with His 12 apostles. The model can hardly be accused of focusing only on church growth when the very idea of G12 is that one person pours their life completely into the lives of 12 others.

This books gives you a great game-plan to grow a church. Unfortunately, this system has some problems. The primary problem is that there is such a focus on church growth that individual people are left behind. If you're not growing the church, you become part of the problem. The system leaves room for a cultish following of a charismatic leader rather than focusing on individual interpretation of scripture. This system can make you forget too easily that there are some things that are more important than church growth.
