2.0 out of 5 stars Academic, Not Practical, December 18, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Focus Groups in Social Research (Introducing Qualitative Methods series) (Paperback)
This book is good for academics that need a history of focus groups and a summary of research studies that investigate the technique itself. This is an interesting history, with many studies weighing in on what makes focus groups better or worse. But, as a practitioner, there is little that I found particularly new or insightful in the book. I think that Stewart's work is a better guide for someone that needs details on how to conduct a focus group. So, while good for PhD students, this book I found less good for managers.
