5.0 out of 5 stars Simple conservation ideas that little kids can be successful with, April 15, 2009

We bought this book for Easter for our 2yr old son with the idea of using it on Earth Day and to build his library with some books that teach conservation and ecology. The Sesame Street characters give little kids a tie into the topic and the 10 "ways" are very simple and easy to follow, even for a 2yr old. Examples are turning off the water when you brush your teeth, passing along toys and clothes that have been out grown, planting trees/flowers, using shopping sacks instead of plastic bags, trying to repair broken items instead of throwing them out, and resuing items around the house for crafts and other, recycling, and turning lights off when not in use.

The simple illustrations and text in the book really makes the topic easily understood and creates plenty of opportunities for interactive dialogue between parent and child. Well done Sesame Street. What a wonderful way to start teaching children how to better take care of our earth.

5.0 out of 5 stars Grover Goes Green in a Fun Way, September 5, 2008
Many adults today can be heard saying that we need to save the planet for our children and grandchildren. But if our children don't learn from our mistakes, how much good have we really done? Sesame Street has come up with a fun way to help kids learn about environmental consciousness.

In this book, Grover presents his top ten list of ways to save energy, throw less stuff away, take care of our natural resources, and recycle. As he presents each idea, Sesame Street characters act this item out in ways kids can relate. The Count turns off lights. Bert turns off the water while he brushes his teeth. Big Bird brings a reusable shopping bag to the supermarket. And of course the book itself is printed on recycled paper.

As kids see these TV icons adopting earth-friendly behaviors, they will start to model these actions in their own lives. Since I'm a strong advocate of the green lifestyle, I'm thrilled to see this book in print. I highly recommend it for every child's personal library.

5.0 out of 5 stars Grover's 10 Terrific Ways to Help Our Wonderful World, April 18, 2011

I am tutoring second graders this year and, even though this book might be a little easy for them, it contains wonderful ways to help save our earth that they can relate to. I use the book every Earth Day for a tutoring session so I thought I should purchase a copy.
