A wonderful addition to gardening library,

I love this book. Have owned it for a year and have read, read and reread it. I enjoy its focus on sustainable gardening, and its commitment to a sustainable earth through responsible printing practices. A wonderful book for beginners and old green thumbs alike.

Great book, could use more specifics,

I thought this book was amazing! The pictures, the layout and general information are superb! Most books of this kind do not give you enough pictures... this one covers all sorts of detail in the photos and sometimes with gardening you need to see how something is done or what it should look like, so I applaud that. My only criticism is that I wish they would have made it more like a complete bible with more specifics on veggies, etc. I am fairly new to gardening and for what I need, this is great to get me started. I paired this with an NC-specific gardening book and the "Square Foot Gardening" book, and now I am well on my way.

Not a thing different from Rodale's book. I personally did not like and it is not a how to book so if you are looking for a gardening book you'll be betteroff with the vegetable gardener's bible. Skip this one.
