The Storey Country Wisdom Bulletins are 32 page pamphlets which consistently provide a wealth of information for the absolute beginner and the experienced practitioner alike. They go into sufficient detail for the average beginner to be successful in accomplishing the subject of the pamphlet and they include many helpful tips and ideas for the more experienced.
"Grow Super Salad Greens" by Nancy Bubel contains information about the description, needs, cultivation, planting, care, harvesting and eating of 17 different varieties of salad greens. Also included is a wealth of information on nutrient values, garden planning, general requirements and a bounteous list of suppliers of seeds. A number of times I bought seeds for greens and planted them, usually with somewhat disappointing results. After reading the "What Greens Need" chapter I now understand much more clearly when to plant then how to grow myself a nice salad or six. I have never been disappointed in a Storey Country Wisdom Bulletin and most are part of one of Amazon's 4-for-3 promotion. Eligible products include select Books and Home & Garden items. |
