Your Soul will Soar,
By
This review is from: Grow Wild (Audio CD)
"Grow Wild" is a thoughtful and compelling recording that will lift your spirit and remind you of how personally rewarding it can be to listen to music.
The album has a consistent theme and delivery system throughout, as if it were one song in many parts. The singer, Nahoo, guides you through a non-religious but very earthy spiritual journey of cultures. Each song is enjoyable the very first time you hear it, but each additional listening opens up a world of new sounds and musical conncections. It is always a wonderful experience to listen to this CD. The AO vision is that through the eyes of children and the power of cultures coming together, the world is a more meaningful place. AO will prove this in 2008 when it is featured at the Olympics in Beijing. They have a web page: www.aomusic.com .

this album is absolutely stunning with moving melodies, stirring and provokitive lyrics and choruses. The songs all are memorable =, fun and can be listened to over man many times without getting dull. For a first project of AO's, it's a masterpiece.

I like Twirl Better,

This review is from: Grow Wild (Audio CD)
I liked AO's album follow album Twirl which features Miriam Stockly (the voice of Adiemus) much better than Grow Wild. The music of Twirl is quite different and if you like Adiemus you will love Twirl.

Intriguing Blend,

The core of AO comprises Ric Gannaway (stage name, "Nahoo"), who handles the singing and also plays guitar and banjo, and his partner Jay Oliver (stage name, "Jojo"), who plays keyboards, synthesizers, and hand drums; he also handled the engineering chores. Providing musical support on this CD are a number of musicians, including a children's choir. The end product is an intriguing blend of folk music from various sources with a New Age slant. Yes, it is easy to be put off by such stuff, but Grow Wild is an entertaining recording that stands up to repeated listening. Sound quality is full and robust.

I loved Grow Wild, as did my young son. So I'm even more excited about hearing the long-awaited new album TWIRL, featuring Miriam Stockley of Adiemus...I read about it today: http://billboard.prweb.com/releases/AOMUSIC/TWIRL/prweb2089994.htm.

"AO is a polynesian term for light and illumination" as the cd notes begin. "each song is offered to celebrate creation and the liberation of earth." this is visionary music that grows out of love for the life of the planet. you may get lost without the notes to orient. many languages and cultures appear and disappear in a musical myst which always feels warm and friendly. this album is the epitome of new age music for me. it may be one of a kind but i prefer to think the lack of a sequel means the artists are busy materializing their vision and will report back as time permits.

Listening Pleasure,

This new AO CD is pretty darn good, but I anticipated no less. Another CD that I I give my best to is John Tesh's Pure Orchestra. If you ask me, Pure Orchestra should be called "Pure Pleasure"Paul D. Williams |
